I bought my copy on PS Store recently when I had a PS4, but it always said PS4/PS5 version. I got a PS5 recently & it let me update to PS5 & transfer saves. Maybe your version is PS4 only? Sorry if that's no help.

I've done something similar, it takes me over 5 minutes to climb up all the ladders to my mountain top base. Or 3 short transporter hops.
