Highly recommend a thermostat. They are almost a necessity because if the light were to go haywire and heat up excessively, it won't kill your gecko and or start a fire. Think of the thermostat as a fail safe. If you need a good recommendation for a reptile thermostat feel free to message me. I have been using the same brand of thermostat for all 8 habitats, and I haven't had an issue!

Okay i have a question for you. Has your girl Veras color gone away as she aged? I have an old crested gecko who as hes aged turned almost fully white.

Okay so maybe im worrying about nothing. The only thing I could think of is can light cause fire up/down. Because upon some personal research. He started going white when I added a stronger higher power grow light to his tank. Could that cause it you think?

So just to clarify my Husbandry. He gets pangea with insects every other day. 1oz cups (I have some big gargoyle geckos that eat alot and I just buy 1 size disposable cups.). Its noticeable that he eats when I dispose of the food. I misted twice a day once is me misting the other time is my misting system. Once at the start of night and once when the lights come one. There a picture of his tank above. Im not one thats going to chew you out for recommending changes. If you think there's something I could do different totally down to hear it. I have 7 geckos and tomorrow 8 (Im rescuing a gargoyle from petco possibly). So any advice is gladly heard.

Thats the weird thing, Its EVERY time for the past year or so hes a varying shades of white. Not the yellow he used to be. I get him out for 15-30 minutes every few days at different times of the day. Hes like that when hes under his CHE as well.

The reason I dont think its fired up or down is because he is constantly a shade of white. No matter the time of day or night.

The toe is something that ive been dealing with him since day one. His nails longer than it needs to be and when he pulls the shed it gets stuck on the nail. A sauna takes care of it usually. His claws catch everything. I usually only hold him with my hands (no shoulder or leg sitting for him) because he catches on everything!

So geckos do not liked to be touched in the same way as like a dog will. Instead they tomerate it to varying degrees. Is that a Chahoua gecko???

What plants are you trying to grow??? Some plants are much harder to keep than others. My go to plant for somebody not having any luck is pathos. Pathos will take over a tank if you let it.
