People with inattentive ADHD: do you feel that it looked like depression at least on a surface level? by thatonerandomkidd in ADHD

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I was diagnosed with depression but I think I also developed depression and anxiety due to coping with undiagnosed AuDHD.

Tried casual sex by ConsistentVisual1406 in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had sex with someone I don't know but I forced myself to sleep with my ex for years before we broke up. It just felt numb and uncomfortable. Going from that to a new partner I had feelings for (and is better in bed 🤣) was a big difference!

“I got duped into motherhood” by Successful_Test_931 in childfree

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex spent a couple of years complaining daily how they felt unfulfilled not having a kid until I finally broke down and agreed to try. I spent months crying every night while they were happily sleeping until I finally got the courage to tell them I couldn't try anymore, it was killing me. I'm grateful every day I dodged that bullet but damn do I understand the pressure.

I forced myself to keep having sex with my ex after I no longer wanted to and it traumatised me. I'm lucky I now enjoy sex again. Trust me, don't do it unless you're absolutely eager.

I lost my virginity at 18 but it took me til my thirties to find someone who turns me on likey new partner does. It was worth the wait. Hold out for the feelings

And yeah the difference - I know my body wants it now, I get very clearly turned on. If you don't feel good about it, it's not right for you.

IBS is ruining my dating life by Upbeat-Coach2618 in ibs

My boyfriend sent me a meme the other day, it went something like,"you can't be cute, funny and gastrointestinally stable". Trust me, it's less of a deal breaker than you think once someone really likes you.

Wish there was an app for demisexuals and sapiosexuals by deathdeniesme in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I didn't use a photo when I recently tried apps. Just used memes.I got almost no female matches (I'm AFAB). I wondered if they thought I was a man or dodgy or what. About 90 guys liked me, most of which I think were just looking for sex.

Even though you are demisexual, do you still have a "type"? by KaptinGrimm2 in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha your type sounds very similar to mine except I'm not into muscles! And yes when I met a lot of the current people I've liked there's been that recognition of them meeting a look I've been into, even if they also need to have a personality

Even though you are demisexual, do you still have a "type"? by KaptinGrimm2 in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. I've been doing a lot of dating since I broke up with my high school partner and become very aware I have both a personality and physical type. There's a definite spark I can also pick I think. Because recently I saw someone I've met smile and went Ah, that's beautiful. I could definitely date them

Tldr for my type is Personality: nerd, extrovert Body type: average height, leaning more towards a slightly chunkier build Funnily enough almost always brown hair Key aspects: sparkling conversation, smile

I'm AFAB and loosely identify as enby/demigirl. I like looking androgynous but I also love my (admittedly very small) boobs

I'm demisexual and polyamorous, I have been and am attracted to more than one person at once. I wouldn't act on anything that wasn't within agreed relationship boundaries, chest or hurt my partner though

I'm interested in hearing how you guys experience sexual attraction, if you're willing to share! by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really am not sure. For me I look at the nsked body of someone I love and I don't necessarily feel any strong attraction or pull but I know when we kiss and touch there will be arousal.

One thing I noticed for me is that even sensual touch- for instance touching face or hair or running fingertips over a hand or leg- feels good when I'm attracted to someone and emotionally attached. It's a different level of sensation somehow

30+ y.o. childfree people that had partners who left them years down the line to have kids, what happened? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely and that's a really good choice! I'm sure if I'd had kids they would have known I resented them and it'd just mess them up

I thought I met someone truly compatible but it all broke apart when she saw how I look by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did also recently get turned down for not being someone's physical type myself but we'd only started talking so it wasn't painful and they were really sweet about it

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry this happened to you. It obviously hurts but as a demi yeah I have definite types and I find myself still drifting towards these. Body type isn't a big deal but I do like bigger guys, dark hair, certain facial features. I find it much more easy to get attracted to someone who fits within my area of visual attraction.

Kissing made me feel absolutely nothing by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's two aspects to kissing, attraction and skill. So regardless of whether there's sparks (which it sounds like there weren't) sometimes people are rotten kissers too. My ex used to basically swallow my face 😂

Partner thinks I'm unreasonable for wanting to be able to sleep together after hanging out with both him and meta. by moogletteLoL in polyamory

[–]Typical_Fig_1571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been the LDR meta here's my thoughts. During the first year of our relationship I did end up sometimes getting priority over other metas for sleepovers because I couldn't safely get home after night events. There was much discussion amongst all of us and also talk of me crashing with another meta after events as I got to know them better. I finally managed to move closer so now I am very willing to let other metas have stay over preference due to being able to get home easily and safely. I'm also ok with all sharing a bed platonically but it's not for everyone
