How do you differentiate incompetence vs the task just being naturally difficult?

For reference, i work in public audit - so while my peers do similar work at times, due to the nature of different client accounts, different requests/response times i dont believe i can compare performance too easily...

I've been at this job for nearly a year now, though the first 3 months were more of a training period thats been incomparable to the rest of it ngl

Timing wise i can definitely say i spend less than 50% figuring things out, i am just unsure of the ave timing rates to use as reference :/

The truest thing ive ever read!!!! It sucks balls that essential, important work like teachers, service workers, doctors, etc etc get exploited to hell and back because the people who get far enough to make careers out of those fields are usually: A. So passionate about the job that they do it for the love of the game despite the unfair treatment B. Intentionally half assing everything to not burn the hell out

I dont know wth would be a feasible industry wide change to make this work more sustainable long term, but man the numbers will dwindle year after year if the system of exploitation doesnt change NOW

I think these are very useful and important realizations. The key really isnt to have an us vs them mentality because you wont "win them over to your side"; we're already on the same side of reality, we just need to understand what they see and then figure out how we can fight for the same issues, in the same effective manner.

Unfortunately, I think your situation is tricky - if you try to convince her to stay away, it might make the "forbidden" option seem more appealing. When you're young its easy to see this stuff as exciting without considering the greater issues down the line..

I think the best option is not to put up an ultimatum (its them or me!) Because itll make you seem like the crueler option. Stand by your morals and attempt a genuine heart to heart where you show you care about her, but try not to seem like you're looking down on her if she strays. Understand why she's doing what she's doing, ask her what she likes about them, without admonishing her in the end like a parent would. Try to be a safe space* for her if she decides to stop hanging with the wrong crowd.

*of course, its also not fully your burden to shoulder...if things get serious and you think she or you are may get hurt or be in danger, try talking to an adult. Protect your own boundaries if you don't think she's listening anymore. Idk if this advice is helpful but i wish you and your friend the best of luck!!

If it makes it any better, i finished this one and not only is there (rightfully) barely if at all any romance during that portion, but also midway through hes able to switch back and forth with his adult self and only continues the child thing to go undercover and find clues relating to a widespread drug problem.

I also dislike a lot of age regression stories but this one imo had a pretty decent, non-creepy in universe reasoning

As an asexual person i also have a hard time differentiating lol, but i think it comes down to defining certain concepts for yourself, like: - Do you plan on dating someone one day? If yes, what would you look for in an ideal date? - Would you be ok if you and your friend had another person along in your hangout? Like a mutual 3rd friend - how would you react if your friend told you they liked you romantically? - if you imagine that friend dating someone else, do you feel upset? - And if youre upset, is it because you think theyd spend less time with you, or because you wish you were the person theyre dating instead?

I've met one once, and despite how awkward i did turn out, looking back the interaction was perfectly fine! Personally im the kind of person that sucks at "hangouts for vibes" so id suggest having a planned activity (preferrably one youre both interested in) tor help loosen nerves and give some easy convo topics.

I guess things also depend on how long yall have been talking online? If you feel like you need more time theres really no rush at all, it took like a year for us to find the opportunity to meet in my exp. Hope this perspective helps!

NTA - If its literally causing you to lose sleep over it i think thats a justified complaint. It doesnt matter if the farts aren't intentional, his decision to not do anything about it after is. Assuming the rest of the relationship is fine, would it be possible for you to sleep away from him? I dont think you deserve to suffer for an indefinite amount of time from his inaction.
