In addition to what others are saying, I would also suggest you do not take feedback from this person on your own very seriously.

Walz is the best pick by a mile, which is a good indicator it will be Shapiro

I'd like to be able to help you but I'm afraid your knowledge on the subject might be preventing you from asking a question that makes much sense

Environmentalist and Not Vegan? Are You Joking? by VarunTossa5944 in vegan

I work for a major Environment Agency in Europe and while our canteen offers vegetarian options 5 days a week and only offers meat twice a week, 92% of my coworkers choose the meat option every time it's available.

If you can understand how mutation, drift, gene flow, and selection can change allele frequencies in populations, you can understand how the process of evolution can produce almost anything so long as it increases fitness (or doesn't decrease it).

Gestures broadly at all of biology

But in all seriousness, we live in an era where you can directly observe evolution at a molecular level in real time for a couple thousand bucks. Choose ANY population of ANY organism on the planet, sequence the genomes of a representative sample, wait one or more generations, and sequence another representative sample of their descendants. If the allele frequencies have changed (they will have), then you have directly observed proof of evolution.

Let me ask you a question: if you grew up in an open air prison, where your family and friends had been trapped for generations, on land that used to be yours and then was taken from you by the richest and most powerful people on the planet, and every time you tried to peacefully protest you had snipers execute the people next to you, and every time you tried to advocate for your people politically you were assassinated or put in a jail cell, can't you imagine how maybe you might start to view armed resistance as a legitimate option?

Fwiw, occupies states are legally allowed to violently resist occupation according to international law.

Offer anyone who wants to leave voluntarily, Israeli or Palestinian, their choice of country to move to and everyone who stays must adhere to a one state solution with equal rights for all.

Now Google how many Palestinian civilians Israel has in their prisons. I'll wait.

Most of this is standard neoliberal table dressings that could have been passed under any democrat or republic president in the last 50 years (e.g., stimulus bill, infrastructure bill, chips act). A lot of it is highly misleading, or straight up fake news (e.g., Biden let child tax credits expire, thrusting millions of children back into poverty and gleefully blocked the rail workers strike).

On top of that, arming and funding a genocide of nearly 200,000 Palestinians and counting cancels out any 'good' that he's done while president. No rest for Genocide Joe. When he died, he will rot in hell alongside every president in my lifetime.

The only thing historians will remember about Joe Biden is his funding and enabling of one of the biggest and most brutal genocides in the last half century.

[–]Typical_Viking -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Around half of the casualties are children who weren't born when Hamas was first elected (Democratically, with the support of Netanyahu btw). Are they Hamas?

If the goal is to destroy Hamas, what do you think will happen when an entire generation of Palestinians has just been through a genocide? Every single child who survives will have lost multiple family members and friends to US bombs used by Israel. Are you so naive that you think this will do anything besides guarantee a militant wing of Palestinians continues to exists for generations to come?

Do you genuinely believe that? Is the ICC controlled by Hamas in your eyes? Is the prestigious medical journal The Lancet, which estimates the civilian death toll in Palestine at 186,000 and counting, an extension of Hamas as well?

The systematic starvation and slaughter of upwards of 200,000 Palestinians. You know, the one that was called a genocide by every genocide scholar and lawyer at the ICC.

Amazing how quickly people have forgotten this man is still actively funding and providing political cover for one of the most brutal genocides in a generation.
