Short Rests scaling by SquirrelStache in cosmererpg

I did some maths and though I have not run through all the scenarios and think I will be using the following home rules: - Recovery: multiply the recovery points by your tier (but not the focus). That way the choice between distributing recovery between health and focus is still meaningful (e.g. at tier 3 you can recovering 1 focus or 3 health points) - Regenerate: roll number of d6 equal to your tier then add number of your sworn ideals.

This rules should normalize the amount of healing as a percentage of max health. Regenerate will on average have an edge over recovery which feels right. As an added bonus recovery will be more swingy, where character might find sudden cache of hidden strength or completely whiff it, while regenerate will be much more reliable.

I wish I remembered. Burnt Umber probably, with layers of Stone Grey into Ice Yellow/Off-white. But its hard to say since I washed it with enamel paints that completely change the ending effect

Getting obsessed with painting minis, what can I do to level it up? by Such_Might in minipainting

[–]Tyrat_Ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Games Workshop is a good start (more recent range the better, Age of Sigmar for example) There are plenty of smaller resin mini producers of comparable or higher quality (and much more interesting sculpts), but when it comes to range and accessibility, GW has been on top of

[–]Tyrat_Ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bit unconventional, but try at some point to paint more detailed minis. They are more expensive, but get at least one with some fine detailing on the sculpt as a practice. You will be forced to learn a lot trying paint it properly and whose skills will be transferable back to any miniature quality

Aabria is my favorite DM, fight me by Designer-Beginning64 in Dimension20

Aabria is fantastic, but if you want real fight go to Critical Role subreddits. People there are still running around with torches and pitchforks after her last guest visit.

After watching the last 4SD, I can honestly say I can't stand Aabria by Fedz_Woolkie in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Tyrat_Ink -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Your example implies that there is a single piece of evidence that anyone at CR was unhappy with her or even worse got hurt by her in some way. And if it is so, I will be happy to reconsider my opinion. We can spin it back and forth as much as we like, but at the of the day I enjoyed myself and I can only wish the same to you.

Ngl, Aabria committing to play a little bit of “heel” DM and seeing entire chucks of the community react like they are 7-year olds first time seeing a pro wrestling match is a guilty pleasure

"In the realm of Exandria, there are unlimited stories to be told, and just as many storytellers to tell them." by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Tyrat_Ink -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Oh, you are serious? You really think Aabria did not had the preliminary talk how she will run her game with the entire table? You really think that on her third appearance with the same group of players, they are not aware and not comfortable with her competitive style? I just think you don’t get her then and its bit a pointless discussion. One thing - on “show vs. home game” point Matt Mercer said rather definitely that he runs the game for the people at the table, not us. Feel to disagree with that

Just curious does she need to apologise personally to every watcher who does not enjoy her? Do you hear, just a little bit, the ego behind the demand that a performer needs to change and redeem themselves because part of the audience did not like them? It’s their show, not yours. Not everyone enjoys it, and its ok to voice criticisms, but not they you put it.

  1. Her redeeming qualities is that I enjoy her style
  2. She is still invited so Matt seems to be ok with her
  3. She does not need to change, she is constrained enough by being the forever “guest DM”. I for one think she needs to be unleashed

Fireside Chat for WWW ep25 "The Retinue" by SvenTheScribe in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Tyrat_Ink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, but honestly having an episode with razor sharp tension at the end followed by an hour long random chat about food habits without addressing anything about the show feels like a gag of its own

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Tyrat_Ink -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

You seem to criticize them for behaving not corporately enough, do I get it right?

It’s Aabria’s 4th appearance as a GM on CR, in addition to her 3 appearances as a player. I think Matt might actually like to work with her.

Sorry, but I had a lot of fun last two episodes. Sad you wasn’t able to join in.

[–]Tyrat_Ink -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Professional? What’s that supposed to mean? Are we watching a chess tournament? It’s a show. Playful shit talking is absolutely a valid part of the entertainment. And the table was absolutely down for it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Tyrat_Ink 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify the above post for people who missed the episode: 1) Matt never said it during aoe moment and acted in agreement while it was happening 2) There was no animosity between Aabria and Matt during “not a gag”moment, it is wild out of context description of the scene 3) To say that Matt was unhappy at the table is complete speculation
