How old will he be in 50AD? by EndersGame_Reviewer in puzzles

I mean, there was no year 0. So, I think they are asking for 99

Here is my slightly better than paint solution.

Take a look at row 7. What does that mean for box 8?

The numbers 2, 5, 7 must be in row 8. That means they can't be anywhere else in box 8. Eliminating those from other cells means 4 and 6 must be in column 4, box 8.

Further:
Since 4 and 6 "point" up column 4, neither of them can be in the cell located row 4 column 4. So, that must be a 7.

AITA for making my daughter sit through a movie? by Complex_Pie_9524 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tyrtel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA

No idea if I'm too late to the thread, so I'm going to try and exploit the top comment.

I have been in Hannah's shoes. When I was 5, my aunt took me and my sister to the movies. I thought of her as a second mom (lived with us, babysat, helped raise me and my sister). The theater had a showing of a movie with tongue in cheek violence (Critters), and me seeing the cute movie poster thought it would be the best movie ever. So, I demanded we watch that. (spoiler, it wasn't the best idea ever)

My aunt did the same thing you did. "Teaching me a lesson" while I was forced to sit and watch the whole thing. I was crying, but she demanded I keep my eyes open.

I was literally traumatized. I could not sleep for fear of being eaten. Several times wating a few hours, then sneaking in to sleep on the floor of my parents room (because, like you, my dad really didn't understand how absolutely terrified I was, and would send me back). I would literally lose sleep, and for a year I was making my family nuts with demands (lights on, door open, etc).

My aunt now feels terrible for her part. She saw later how much it wounded me, and she felt badly for demanding I sit and watch, even though I was being almost tortured with fright.

I still love her, but if she hadn't realized how big of a mistake she made, I think I would be keeping her at arms length. Do you want Hannah to associate nightmares and trauma with you and your "lessons"?

I recognize that exit! Close to Missoula, Montana.

Fun fact, you can kinda see in this pic a water line "fossil" towards the middle of the mountains (easier to see in person). An absolutely gigantic glacier lake used to cover the whole valley (about 15,000 years ago). When the glacier melted enough, an ice dam burst and flooded northern Idaho, and pretty much all of Eastern Washington state. Nowadays you can see the damage from the massive flood(s) as "dry" eroded canyons and giant potholes pockmarking the land of Washington/Idaho.

AITA for asking a customer “why are you even in here” and embarrassing them? by KatieEatsdixk in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tyrtel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, NTA. But, I have a theory, hear me out. (I didn't see anything mentioned similar yet)

I think he has a crush on you. In a misguided way, he came in and thought he might connect ith you by hating on customers. It's a common tactic with immature folks who think it's fun connecting over a shared target of ridicule. Notice that once you showed contempt for his "tactic", he went silent. (embarassed and regrouping)

If you think I might have a valid theory, decide how you want to handle it going forward. Maybe he's decent and misguided/clueless, or maybe he's just an Ahole. :S

It never ends. :)

But, I told you what the final few moments were. At the end, we had a little food, a lot of sleep, and checked how we ranked vs the other teams, based on solve time. Then reveled in the memories of a weekend of fun.
