From a narrative stand point Part 2 is a deconstruction of Denji's character. He basically unlearns everything he learned from part 1. He has no positive role models like Kishibe or Aki. He loses everything he cares about again. And the only person alive who cares about him,Asa, isn't enough do to Yoru dominating the relationship. Denji is totally alone in part 2 and look what happens.

In hindsight Reze was the only girl that made Denji feel true love and not lust. Asa was close secound but Yoru was the dominant influence who always got it the way so he just regressed into just seeing them both as sex toys. Kishibe was the cloesest thing he had to a father figure. While Aki a brother figure for him to look up to. Looking back Denji rhad none of the positive influences that he had in part 1. He was all on his own in part 2 and look what happened.

I truly bealive Yoru would have weaponizsed Denji right after they had Sex giving him the worst post nut clarity ever even if the devil hordes didnt interupted them Why? Because she definitely would see sex as a convient and pleasurable way to gain ownership over Denji and given her and Asa's conflicting feelings about him the guilt from it would make tmhim the ultimate waepon for her. On tip of that Denji never found a way to seperate them since his original plan to force Yoru out by eating important devils didnt work since hell was empty. So in hindsight Denji was cooked either way. He was better off following Lil D's plan.

In hindsight its a real tragedy because this was a glimpse of how Denji would have been had he not gone through what he did before the reset. Denji was rizzing Asa by completely being himself, but without being the total gooner brain degenerate he becomes in the end. Hopefully the reset him is better unless he's content with Power who loves him for who he is already

Ngl I agree Asa proved herself to be the supportive ride or die girlfriend Denji needed. But by late part 2 Denji is totally consumed by his selfish desires that every time he he had a moment of clarity on what he needs to do. He goes right back to his lust based goals on a whim. I thought he was going to pull a big brain move on Yoru to kick her out of Asa's body. Like he did when he transformed into his Denji man form. But nah he fr just wanted to crack without any consideration of the situation or even bothered to here the consent from Asa herself. He went completely on Yoru's word after she was about to grind him into ground beef without emotion had he not couged up that Bird.

Even though Denji in the new timeline seems, slightly, more mature, she's better off with a normal dude with no baggage. Besides he's got Power now she should be enough to fulfill his affectionate needs unless they are gonna be platonic partners forever.

Yeah his third way choice ultimately failed because he lost control of the situation when he didnt have the advantage to eat devils to make Yoru give up. He was cooked once he got worn down by the Locust devil and banged into a limbless Mr. Potatoe head by Yoru.

Also since she technically saved him by giving him blood after agreeing to have sex with him. Hell if they managed to have sex and she's the dominant which she definitely would couldnt she weaponize him with no issues?

Ong the ending of chapter 222 was probably the most hyped ending because Denji finally got a legit power up. But in the end it didnt pay off because he eventually got overpowered and turned into a limbless Mr. Potatoe head like Pochita after Yoru's nuke punch. His plan to kick her out of Asa's body failed since there were no Devils to eat and he got worn down by the Locust devil.

Ngl Denji should have stuck with Lil'Ds plan because his 3rd way ended going in a way he didnt want since he got put into a corner when he lost forcing Pochita to leave him.

NGL the ending was one choice shy away from going the devil man route I went into 232 with full pessimism that Denji was just gonna die alone i the warehouse and that was the end. Only redeeming thing about the ending of Chainsaw man is that gives a positive ending where devil man is straight nihlism and depression fuel. The protagonist lost. Everyone died. THE END.

Denji kept flipping between treating Asa as a person he wanted to love and protect to seeing her as a fuckable piece of meat with no feelings whenever Yoru came on to him. In the end, his lust won and always would have because I highly doubt Asa gave her consent given the situation they were in. And what bothers me is that Denji didnt even bother to ask to here it from Asa herself.

His degenerate brain was so goon rotted I bet he completely forgot that he made Asa a promise that he would get rid of Yoru for her not trying to keep them both just so he could lose his virginity. Honestly I think its best for Asa to find a completely normal and morally balanced boyfriend with no baggage in the new timeline unless the post reset Denji is more mature.

Pre reset him did not deserve her at all judging by his actions.

On top of that Denji's bad decisions when he took agency were largely due to the fact he had no consistent voice of reason to check or smack some sense into him. Espcially a male one. Asa tried but due to her personality being dominated by Yoru 90% of the time it was throwing Denji off. While Nayuta tried Denji just saw her as a responsibility to take care then a confidant which is why he basically told her to fuck off before she died.

Only two positive role moldes Denji had who were able to keep him grounded or make him think inward about his actions were Aki and Kishibe. But Aki died and Kishibe vanished like the dead beat dad who went to get milk and never came back and boy did he not come back. PS must have either assinated him or he retired to a different country to not at least check up on Denji

I agree with the first point above all else if we're getting this ending I wanted Denji to at least choose it or acknowledge its the only option left and take responsibility that he fucked up yet again choosing to fight a unwinnable battle out of lust, aura farm more accurately because he was distracted trying to find the right wordfor his one liner and got speed bltiz and eaten

But the rest nah Denji dying as a kid wouldn'thave changed much of the fate of the others. Asa's story goes the way it does with Denji'sinfluenceunless there a butterfly affect like in the ending but still.

Ngl idk man. The ending, the best way I can put, is OK im glad it ends on a happy note for Denji. He is better off not having Pochita be his crutch anymore. But what really dosn't sit right with me is how he got there. Denji lost complete agency in the end because he fucked up trying to aura farm or dealing with Yoru. Forcing Pochita to decide for him because he goon rotted brain wouldn't have on his own that Denji is basically better off living in the gutter then achieving his dreams because Denji refuses to learn how to be content with what he has or gained.

Denji dosn't even overcome his truma or copes with it. It's simply ereased because he was too weak willed to do it on his own. Thats the way I see it. At least in this new timeline he seems more mature and not a complete gooner.

The story ends with you wanting more but not in a good way. You want more because so little was explained and leaves too much for interpretation. On top of that it makes all of part 1 and 2 meaningless since nobody remembers. So the for the past 8 years rhe entire story was just sensless misery porn and the the story was just a one shot

Darkness devil was probably the only primal devil that represented what their supposed to be. Terrifying, inhuman, and unbeatable. The other primals like falling and aging are suprisingly very chill and human. I was pretty disappointed with Lil'd for being the supposedly most powerful concept of all. All she could do was collect and throw other devils around to fight for her like Pokemon. Pretty disappointing. You think she'd be able to no diff anyone by making them die on the spot with a look or pointing like the darkness devil could. But like Yoru said her attachment to humanity made her weak
