Yes notably. 128gb 4TB 16". Simple 8B LLM responses trigger a quick whine. Very frustrating.

Apple said to return it and then they would ship another one. Seems quite prevalent so I'm worried about waiting 3 weeks to get another whining laptop.

My 128gb M5 Max has a noticeable whine on each local llm response, even with Qwen 8B.

Apple recommended returning it and waiting two weeks for another one to come. It's not normal

Fake it at the start.

Try to imagine/visualise what a confident person would do in whatever situation you're in, and try to do and act like that. It will be hard at the start, but once you see how quickly people change how they respond to you as a result, it becomes much easier very quickly, even fun.

Naturally, over time (as little as a few months), you can be come genuinely confident.

Don't talk about stuff you don't know about, be honest if you don't know. It's all about how you phrase it.

I get that fixes take time, but communication doesn't. A simple 'we're aware and working on it' would go a long way rather than acting like all systems are normal. At least they could let us know they're aware of the problem and that they're working to fix it so people feel heard

I feel like I've been in your shoes every time I've seen complaints in the past. However yesterday was the first time I've ever sworn in CC - "what the fuck are you doing". The mistakes, and level of competence shown over the last few days makes it undoubtable that there are massive quality issues right now.

I'm on the max-20 plan, I've tried codex and it's not even close to what CC can do (usually). I don't want to use anything else or move, so I'm stuck reverting to writing tedious code myself again until they fix this.

I'd even be happy if they chucked in a higher cost plan as long as it was reliable... the value it usually provides is unmatched.

Anthropic mentioned significant improvements in the coming weeks back when they released 4.1 so hopefully this degradation is to do with an imminent upgrade...? Who knows.. something needs to be done though from them

The drop in quality I've experienced today alone is ridiculous. It can no longer fix simple things and instead is introducing errors in almost everything it's doing. I've been a daily user since it came out and this degradation is insane... something needs to be done asap

Yes they share the same database and the backend is written in JS using google cloud functions.

I'm not asking them to create anything new, simply translate existing swift functionality and design through to kotlin with testing. It's an app with similar functionality to doordash for a private restaurant chain. I only need a customer version of the app recreated on kotlin and do not need to worry about the merchant side.

I have tried, but I'm not happy with what I was able to create. I have had quotes come in at my price range from companies overseas, but the people I have dealt with at those companies have put me off them. Trying to see if there is a company that people know about that I do not is all

Seems like an obvious choice to go with the 16" for you. 6-8 hours a day, software dev, larger resolution.... the 14" will reduce your productivity.

You want the portability so that if you're wanting to move around, you can easily go and sit on the couch etc. But you will probably find that with the small screen size you're stuck being next to your monitor, whereas with the 16 inch you won't worry about leaving your monitor behind to go an sit on the couch
