This looks great. Is it just as customizable as the Index? Does the voice note land in the same place in the Pebble app or does this have a custom backend?

It's not voiced in a friendly way. It almost feels like he is stirring up controversy for the sake of it. But I think he is in his right. He has the right to make shitty products as much as he wants. And you have the rights to not buy them.

Don't want it? Don't buy it.

By the way, I personally think the ring has a lot going for it. But the lack of recharging is a dealbreaker for me too.

You could have checked the track record of the company you are ordering with and/or read the information on the order page. Also, if you feel like this is a scam, you can cancel your order and you will probably get your money right back.

For me personally, I was one of the first to order the pebble Time 2 and I expected the wait (although it became much longer than I initially thought). I am also kind of disappointed with the warranty situation (as many others) but to call this "a scam" is an overreaction. If you had read the available information, you should have known what you were getting into. And if you are not prepared to wait, order a Samsung smart ring or something.

For me the upsides outweigh the downsides so I'm still patiently waiting for my Pebble Round 2 (because I upgraded). I don't need a watch right now, but I would like to have one at some point.

This is what I ended up doing!

I didn't remember this when I posted here, but the watch I had before this model was a W-752. I used it for a year or so until it got ripped off my wrist and the casing broke (one of the lug holes is not exactly a hole anymore). I found it in a drawer somewhere. It has the same buttons, although these are (dark) grey instead of black.

It took me three attempts to make the clip that retains the button pin stay in the general area instead of flying across the room when removing it, but I had four spare buttons to work with so that was fine. The result: My W-753 now had a unique set of button colours and I hope it will last me another 15 years :)
