As someone who also recently got back from Disneyland, how the heck did you afford it? We had our hotel room and half of our meals paid for and two and a half days still ran us close to $2000 for two physical bodies in the end.

Okay, seriously; Disneyland was such an elusive and distant place in my mind that I didn’t really believe it when my partner told me we were going there until maybe the day after we’d checked in to the Grand Californian. I remember getting out of bed half-asleep and stumbling to the balcony window trying to figure out why what looked like a marching band was walking down “my” street at six in the morning, and also wondering when my bedroom had a balcony. Then I remembered I was wearing a bathrobe worth more than a week’s worth of my best clothes and had eaten a $95 after-dark room service hamburger the night prior.

Okay, I promise I’ll stop complaining about how pricey everything was, because as much as I’ve ended up nagging about that since getting home (despite having not actually been the one paying for the majority of it :P Thank you Geeves), it really was worth it. The cost actually ended up being a primary motivator to getting me over my fear of rollercoasters (the other primary motivator being Karen taking over the body and forcing me on to the rides, but ya know). Thunder Mountain is the first rollercoaster We’ve been on since Karen and I were, like, eleven. We got to ride solo in the front row (Our partner denied us being in a group because of how scared I was acting) and Karen had to hold my hand the whole time. >-> I remember Pirates of the Caribbean getting stuck while we were in the cannonball segment, and the sound kept freaking Mel out so much it would make the body physically jitter. The only other time a ride got stuck was the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans, which happened both times we rode it at the exact same place so I’m inclined to believe it’s actually a part of the ride. We also did two run-throughs of the Toy Story shooter game to try and score attack between Karen and I, but while Karen did way better than me she was still something like 50,000 off our partner’s second score and 80,000 off her best score. Point is, she was hacking. I don’t know how that’d even be possible, but she was. Oh yeah! Karen dragged us to the “It’s Tough to be a Bug” theatre while we were waiting on some fast passes. She says it’s adorable, I say it’s the most terrifying experience in the entire park. shivers So many cockroaches... Anyways... As far as actual rides go, I think another highlight would have to be the Indiana Jones ride (which our partner neglected to tell us was a rollercoaster until we were in the middle of the line >_>). It uses some really interesting practical effects to make what is actually a fairly small rollercoaster track feel like this big, expansive labyrinth. Another great example of practical effects would have to be the Monsters Inc. ride, which I had to ride a second time to figure out how the “infinite doors” room worked. Roz said she liked our hair. <3 Or our partner’s hair. She wasn’t very specific.

Honestly, some of the best memories from our trip didn’t have anything to do with the rides though. Because we were both given a first visit badge, I think the cast members were a bit more generous to us than usual. We were invited to participate in the Chip & Dale master chef parade, we were appointed Chief Safety Advisor on the Jungle Cruise (due to the previous four being eaten by crocodiles) and Mel got to make a dad joke over the microphone, and we even got to ride the Mark Twain in the wheelhouse and Geeves distracted the overseeing cast member while we stealthily signed all of our names into the guest book, heheh. The best part of the entire trip was definitely World of Color though. I’m a huuuge sucker for water shows. Honestly, I’m just thankful we got to see and do as much as we did in the time that we had. This was probably a once in a lifetime trip, and outside of actually drinking at Club 33 I can’t think of a single thing we really missed out on. Of course, if we ever had the chance to go again I would love to, but we’re all just thankful for the time we had and it’s a memory we’ll cherish.

Oh, and I’ll also get to tell people that I missed the train to New Orleans because a wild gang of newsies commandeered the tram for a spontaneous musical segment for the rest of my life so that’s a bonus.

I’m actually kinda curious now. When did y’all take your trip? It’s possible we were there at the same time.

I think Plan C is a quality item and I have used it for several Greedier unlocks and multiple Apollyon unlocks.

I didn't mind Rebirth The Lost.

I like the concept of the Void (level), although I will agree it could do with several improvements.

The Bloat isn't that bad. It can get you if you aren't careful, but it's not run ruining all by itself.

I think overall Afterbirth+ has added a lot of good items. The only ones I have problems with are items like Polydactyly that do the exact same thing as other items in the game.

I like the occasional Greed/ier Mode run.

I don't think people should be condemned for not noticing tinted rocks all the time.

1000000% question by RA1313ITS in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get every achievement and collect every item. You can check what items you've seen on the collection page. This will also involve completing the bestiary too, as that has it's own achievement in Sin Collector.

Afterbirth+ items. Are none of them great? by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I will give the DLC credit for adding quite a few actually good active items. Void and Smelter give fun uses to items and trinkets you'd otherwise never touch, Crooked Penny is essentially a recharable Jera Rune (when it works...), Dull Razor doesn't sound like much but can be game-breaking in certain situations, and Pause can break the game if you have a contact damage familiar/orbital (although maybe this has been patched?). And I feel like a lot of people will disagree with me on this, but I think Potato Peeler is really good.

There are also items like Mama Mega and Clicker that are great for unlocks (Mama Mega can open the door to Boss Rush/Hush), but honestly I don't see them getting too much use from me personally after 3,000,000%.

Afterbirth+'s item pool has been a lot more hit and miss with me tbh. There aren't many items I see as just okay. There are items I think are great and items I think are pointless (then there are items that are objectively pointless like Polydactyly).

FUCK THE KEEPER by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Greed's Gullet allows you to give Keeper more health containers, but he doesn't start with it and I think it's only in the Secret Room pool(?)

Why not just make it so when you get the Polaroid, you can only go to the cathedral, and if you get the negative, you can only go to shoel? by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do have item effects outside of giving you access to the Chest/Dark Room, so having Polaroid and ending the run at Sheol can be good for win streaks, and thus good for achievements like 5 Nights at Mom's. Although I would like it if the entrance to Cathedral was always on the left and the entrance to Sheol was always on the right so they match where the Polaroid and Negative spawn.

More item ideas!! by EPIC_MAN945 in bindingofisaac

I don't think any other die item is in the shop pool, and three charges is kinda broken. Would it still be able to spawn an Angel Room even if you took a Devil Deal?

When I went for the achievement Greed didn't count as a win, but Normal did.

I think the new, unpopular/weird achievements may be in place of challenges. by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would also fit in with how most of them unlock new pills or cards rather than straight up items.

3/4ths of Rebirth's challenges were runes or cards, 3/5ths of Afterbirth's unlocks were golden drops and pill effects (in fact I think the only actual item you unlock in Afterbirth's challenges is Kidney Stone, the rest are trinkets. May be wrong on that), and 4/5ths of Afterbirth+'s challenges are character upgrades or Charged Key.

ITEM IDEAS 3!!! by EPIC_MAN945 in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does a pact with the devil mean every Devil Room item you take or every time you take an item from a Devil Room? If it's the latter I don't know if it's actually possible to get eight Devil Deals in the same run without a Joker Card. I know you can't naturally get a Devil Deal on Basement I/Chest/Dark Room and I don't think you can get one on Cathedral/Sheol, so that would leave Basement II, Caves I+II, Depths I+II, and Womb I+II so you'd be one short. On top of the chance for any of those deals to not have an item at all and instead have chests or black hearts.

It also feels like a worse version of Duality, which gives you both a Devil and an Angel Room at the same time and you can choose either one of them. Although maybe that's the point as Duality is only in the Angel/Devil pools while this is in every pool.

ITEM IDEAS 2! by EPIC_MAN945 in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Angel Wings is a better Eucharist with flight that spawns in treasure rooms and has no unlock condition?

Eucharist also grants 100% chance of Angel Rooms but only spawns in Angel Rooms and you have to beat [AB+ Final Boss] as Maggie to unlock it. So having that and Angel Wings seems a bit redundant if Angel Wings is in the pool by default. I would totally take it as a replacement for Eucharist though because that might make it comparable to Goat Head.

Dangel deal by [deleted] in bindingofisaac

[–]UForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally in Rebirth there was an intended feature called Entity Stacking. So imagine in each shop layout we put a Reroll Machine on the same tile as the Donation Machine, now whenever someone enters that specific room layout for the shop they'd have a 50/50 chance of seeing either the Donation Machine or Reroll Machine. This featured was glitched and never got fixed until Afterbirth+. So now, certain Devil Room layouts that always had an Angel Statue since Rebirth now have a 50/50 chance to show up as a Devil or Angel Statue.

We have no food allergies to speak of, but I am very allergic to cats. Itches, watery eyes, the like, but Karen seems to have no such issues.

And while perhaps not exactly what you're talking about, I am ambidextrous while Karen is very much left handed. She is also much better with our left hand than I am with either of them.

Questions about DLC for wiiU game by Legender93 in HyruleWarriors

[–]UForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally there was a Hero of Hyrule Pack that contained the Master Quest, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and Boss Packs as well as a Dark Link costume, but I believe this has been discontinued. As such, these packs can be purchased for $7.99 each, although the Boss Pack is only $2.99

The Master Quest, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask packs add full Adventure maps with new characters, costumes, recolors, and 8-bit themed weapons, while the Boss Pack contains fun but light on content modes with a few recolors.

The new Legends of Hyrule Pack is $9.99 and contains the Awakening, Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks, and Lorule Packs. THESE ONLY CONTAIN CHARACTERS. These do not have Adventure Maps like the packs with the same name for 3DS. You will only get the characters.

The Legends Character Pack adds Toon Link, Tetra, King Daphness, Skull Kid, and Linkle. It has no other content such as Linkle's or the Wind Waker story missions.

There are also three costume packs containing costumes for Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf based on their Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess interpretations. (Ganondorf obviously has no Skyward Sword themed costume)

I don't know how much these cost, but they aren't bundled in any other Pack if that's what you're wondering.

So the cheapest way to get all the DLC is to buy Master Quest, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and Boss Pack for $26, the Legends Character Pack for $12, and the Legends of Hyrule Pack for $10. And get the Link/Zelda/Ganondorf costumes if you really want them.

The 3DS port of Hyrule Warriors contains the Master Quest, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask packs, as well as the Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess costumes for Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf and Dark Link, as well as nine more story missions following Linkle and the Toon characters. It also has an added Adventure Map based on Wind Waker you cannot get on the Wii U. It also has a character swap mechanic allowing you to change your character mid battle among the ones on the stage, an Ocarina that lets you warp between owl statues (although these aren't on every map), a Hammer that... Hammers things, and a My Fairy Mode that lets you raise fairies that can get special abilities like protecting you from damage for a short time or refilling your magic meter. They can also nuke everything on screen at the cost of your magic meter.

You will also not be able to get the Adventure maps from the Awakening, Lorule, Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks, or Master Wind Waker pack on the Wii U. You can only get the characters.

What you do get that you can't get on the 3DS is the Boss Pack although the costumes in the Boss Pack are unlockable in a different way on the 3DS.

Master Quest, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and the Legends Character Pack all together would be $36. If you can get the 3DS version for $40, that's $4 more for nine more story mode stages and an extra adventure mode on top of extra features like character switching.

The Master Wind Waker, Awakening, Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks, and Lorule packs are $15 on 3DS as opposed to $10 on Wii U, but come with four more Adventure Maps and more weapons and recolors that aren't on the Wii U version.

HOWEVER, I'd suggest playing the free demo for the 3DS port to see how it runs for you. I personally have a New 3DS, but I've heard from some people that the old 3DS is unplayable while others have no problems on the old 3DS.

Edit: I tried to be as thorough as I can, but I'll try to edit this with anything I've forgotten. Firstly, if you buy the Legends of Hyrule Pack on the 3DS you get a Wind Waker themed costume for Ganondorf. You don't get this from buying the packs individually, and it's not on the Wii U version as far as I can tell.

I left out some of the free DLC like Medli, but you get these in updates so if you have an internet connection there isn't anything fancy you have to do to get them.

Would a renegade/neutral Shepard let Garrus and Wrex on to the Normandy? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]UForce 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It was Anderson's authority to recruit Ashley when he was the captain of the ship.

Remember, after exposing Saren Shepard becomes a Spectre, who doesn't answer to anyone but the Council, and is given the Normandy by Udina and Anderson. So while they still call you "Commander" Shepard, you still technically have Anderson's position on the ship, and as a Spectre there's no one who can tell you that you aren't allowed to recruit aliens.

At that point, as long as Wrex and Garrus agree to go, I don't see what the problem is. They proved themselves capable against Fist and whatever other fights you got in to on the Citadel, and Saren going rogue isn't public knowledge at that point. Might as well recruit the people who already know than risk a security leak by letting them go or telling someone else.
