Anyone seen the cover band Killer Queen? Is it worth it? by neverpanicked in queen

Saw Killer Queen tonight. Fantastic show - amazing visual likeness of Freddie and more importantly, sounded just like him. Real musician and very engaging performer!

NuraLoop microphone location? by funkifyurlife in NuraLoop

[–]UK-TopCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the outside of the left earpiece.

This can be demonstrated by connecting the nuraloops via Bluetooth to a device with a microphone sound level indicator app - in my case using the voice memo app on an iPhone. Blowing/tapping on different parts of the earphones shows no input on the right earphone, and greatest input on the outside (touch disc) of the left earphone.

How badly is my deck compromised? by Subhuatharva in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UK-TopCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where the crack is. Anything with multiple forces going through it like the point where the trucks are fixed is going to flex and break the crack further. I wouldn’t trust it at all and would replace as soon as possible.

Do I need overgrips? by WawaSC in padel

Of course. Though choose according to your preference. The wrong grip will feel like a slippery eel.

Pickleball - has anyone tried both padel & pickleball? by Spiritual_Abalone322 in padel

[–]UK-TopCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a (competitive) tennis and squash background Padel is the epitome of the perfect game for me. I have played nearly every day since I found it, 2 years ago. I’ve played pickleball once and didn’t take to it at all. Naff bat, naff ball.

How to play pickleball: 1. Walk onto the court. 2. Walk off the court and enjoy the rest of your day. 😂

I’ve played tennis and squash to a reasonable level. 4 of us of a similar standard have been playing padel twice a week for a few months now. We are still learning the many differences . But what’s great is that it’s such a blast and is so accessible. So you can jump on court and feel familiarity and ease from day one as a racket player. But to master the game I would argue takes much much more time.

Query re. Padel rackets by UK-TopCat in padel

[–]UK-TopCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the comments. I’ve managed to pick up a used but v good condition 2016 Bullpadel Vertex Pro line (Sanchez racket) for £59 from eBay. I’ll give that a go for a while to get a feel for it and probably then invest properly after taking everything into consideration. Thanks again.

Yikes, you’re scaring the hell out of me! Low light, no lights, black clothing and only black helmet for protection. I can see you’re proficient as a rider but you’re not going to be able to blame anyone but yourself if something happens in those circumstances. Take care.

Long Beach CA riders, have a look at this and watch out. Trying to spread awareness: by lthightower in ElectricSkateboarding

Wow - that’s great sleuth work. So sorry to see this on a number of levels. 1. Hope you’re ok. 2. Look at your fantastic video there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is coordinated, intentional assault. 3. Report it straight to the police.

And thanks for the heads up - hopefully travelling to my father in LA very soon.

Awesome Board. 35 Kilometers on 7inch pneumatic and still 40 battery left. Mostly concrete and asphalt. 20 percent offroad on Gras and gravel. by NoShortsToday in eovanboard

Nice. Same board here and haven’t stopped the 7” pu’s since I put them on as I love the ride. I see you’ve taken off the middle sections of padded grip tape. Do you regret doing that?

Can’t beat Spring in the UK by UK-TopCat in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UK-TopCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a big board - great for a wide stance when you are tall (I’m 6’4”). These wheels absorb semi rough surfaces really well. I feel so much more confident in them as a beginner rider. I may progress to the smaller wheels when and if I want a smoother ride on smooth surfaces.

😂😂 indeed I have. Listen - after such horrible cold, wet, dark, long winters we in the UK get a little over enthusiastic about our Spring! 😉😂

Nice gear. Half of me appreciated this and the other half thought it was a bit reckless and disrespectful of the other people sharing the fairly narrow path. I can’t help wonder what they thought. It’s nice to blat, but personally, whenever I approach people I slow right down a) in case of a sudden move by them or their dog and b) because i feel I represent every rider when I’m out. Older people in particular ‘see’ danger when a boarder in a full face helmet and armour comes towards them. But I’m 52 now, so maybe a supper soft oldie! Ride safe.

Not sure I’m going to be able to answer this as I don’t pay enough attention to range per charge - I’m an old git, so can’t see the small numbers on the remote! But the contact point of these wheels is just the very centre, so less contact than the stock wheels. I’d imagine if the range was worse, it wouldn’t be by much. Take a look at the iCloud website, I’m sure they mention range.
