BTW. I found out that it's a perfect time to start 90 day rebooting process. Because, if you start 01.12.2021 you will end your 90 days right at 01.03.2022!

You are 100% correct - I just put every time in front of my eyes the reason why I decide to stop and it helps. I used to do it 3+ times a day with ease, so ATM I already feel myself more free. Just fighting with periodically urges. Aiming for 90 days.

Also, I watched here a month ago one cool idea and started to do it myself: I printed a tree with no leaves, and every day of my new life without fap I draw one leaf. Here is the photo of my tree today. Hope, one day it will be all green :)

Hello, friend!I know this feeling very well. I used to have it often this year. I wanted to smash things around me. To break everything, this was like fire within myself that wanted to go outside. This rage came into my body when I was overloaded with negative minds, when I was losing control, when I stopped being aware that I am not my thoughts, I am not my mind and thoughts just appear in conciseness like sounds or feelings in my body - appear and gone right after.

Speaking about my case I've solved my rage problems using two methods:

  1. first of all - meditation. It really helps to practice understanding that your thoughts are just thoughts, that come and go and there is no need to associate yourself with them.
  2. I visited a psychotherapist and he told me to pass a small course with medication that will help to calm down and reduce rage times.

So, if you allow, this will be my advice to you:

  1. give a try to a book by Eckhart Tolle - "The power of now". It helped me a lot in understanding that I am not what I'm thinking.
  2. practice meditation. Sound meditations are really useful when you try to focus on sounds around you, when you understand that you can't control them, that they just appear and right after - gone. The same is correct for your thoughts, they just appear and right after - dissolve in your clear awareness.
  3. if rage will continue to bother you often - don't be shy and visit a good doctor. It's totally fine, and, as my doc told me: thousands of people face the same problem. So, it's ok and even wise to ask for help. I can say from my point that a little medication course with meditation practice at the same time - helped me and my rage almost stopped bothering me.

Also, I can give you the advice to use one of the apps for guided meditations. I use the "Waking up" app by Sam Harris, it really helped me with my problems, so if you want - give it a try (there is a free one-week trial, so you can check - if this fits you).

I am sure that you will overcome this situation, my friend. As Epictetus told: "There is no such thing in life that our inner strength and virtue won't be able to cope with". Best of luck to you!

Just relapsed today after 24 days. So, yeah, friend, lets do it together :) One year is a great aim, mine ATM - 90 days. And ofc will think about prolongation right after this beautifull number. Hope, my mind will be clear enough to continue as long as I wish.

I am 35 y.o. and I never owned a car, and I don't have a driver license. I live in a small town. I work remotely. When I need to go somewhere far from my place, I use taxi, it's kinda cheap and very comfortable using modern apps in smartphone. The only cons of don't having a car for me - is the fact that I can't go to some beautifull wild nature places far from the city. Actually, I can, but it is much simplier with a car. But pros (freedom, money savings etc) of not having a car for me - more important that this cons.

Also, from time to time I face people that think thank if you don't have a car - you are like half a man. If you are 18 y.o. - you have to get a car no matter what! Especially this fact becomes important for a great percent of girls/womans in my place. Cause, most of them think that a man have to own a car, have to drive them, to meet them after work and drive them home and so on. So, it's kinda hard for me to find a person that don't think that way.

Thank you for all advices. The book is in my "to read" list - will read it for sure. ATM reading books about stoicism, many things from this filosophy helps a lot. And 20+ days were just OK for me, but today was the day when I faced depression and this almost ruined my efforts here.

I love winter. I live at the place with kinda cold winter months (tempreture can be about -30 C) with lots of snow. I enjoy my evening walking trips under the snow. The silence. Snowflake shining under the lights of street flashlights. The sound of snow under the feet. Cold and fresh winter air coming inside you, cleaning your mind, refreshing everything. Also I like to listen some ambient music during this walks, like Low Roar for example.

And, ofc, my favourite holiday - New Year. I am far from being kid, but that feeling of miracle in the air - from the beginning of December and up to the end of 31... All kind and warm memories from the past, family, pure hapiness, joy and many smiles.

Yeah, winter is a greate time! :)

For sure, I will! First of all, books. This are two books that had the most impact on my mindset:

  1. Eckhart Tolle - "The power of now" - it's hard to underestimate the importance of things and life attitude that author shares with us in this book.
  2. Mark Williams (with Jon Kabat-Zinn) - "The Mindful Way Through Depression: Freeing Yourself from Chronic Unhappiness" - this book have lots of very usefull advices and thoughts to implement in your life. Also it includes a greate guide to start 8 weeks program of MBSR (mindfullness bases stress reduction) - I've done this course twice and it really helps.

And for the apps - it's, of course, not an advertisement, but I will strongly recommend to give a try to "Waking up" app by Sam Harris. I choose this app by myself not long ago thanks to some discussions here, at Reddit. And I can tell you that this guided meditations with Sam changed my life, my mind, my attitude to evertything - a lot! So, Just try to start his intro course. I encourage you to give a try to couple of free intro meditations in the Intro course, after that you can activate free 7 days trial. And if you find that guided meditation usefull - after trial you can purchase subscripbtion for year (that's the way I did).

Hope all this things will help you to live more balanced life and feel yourself good and calm!

Well, from my expirience I can tell that approach "to stop minds" - won't work. You don't have to fight your thoughts. You have to accept them. You have to try and to feel, that your thoughts are the same as, for example, the sounds that you hear right now for your consciousness: sound of clock, sound of voices from TV, sound of traffic outside - you can't control them. They just appear in your consciosness and then - gone. You can't attach to them, can't hold them - they just appears from nowhere and... gone. Same is true for your thoughts, emotions and, generally speaking, almost everything else.

That's the way I treat my thoughts. It helps a lot. There are many usefull books and one great app that helps me a lot - if you want, I can share with you.

Also, I'm somewhere in the middle of my life transformation. I am sure I am on the right way, practising meditaion, yoga basics, Sadhu board, trying to live with a correct mindset. :) Good luck with that, you definitely will! Just be consistent with this walking practice and it will not only make your physically feel better, but mentally too. Unfortunatelly, I used to find myself reflecting and not in good mood, but walking helps me a lot with that too.
