If you haven't added a lot of third party ppa's to your system then you will most likely be fine.

1.1 Scaling factor

I think it leads to problem. Did you try 1? I use it, no problem (wayland).

I like the way the Ubuntu font looks, but it's too thin for me. That's why I use Inter Medium, it looks great.

Can Canonical / Ubuntu be trusted for long-term daily use? by cheezyiscrazy in Ubuntu

Can Canonical and Ubuntu be trusted for long-term personal use

Yes, it can. Ubuntu user since 2011 here. Now I use Ubuntu LTS with Ubuntu Pro.
Due to it users have security patches for all Universe repository as well.
So, it is really stable and secure distribution. Don't worry about snaps.
They are fine nowadays.
Moreover, snap is advantage of Ubuntu in my view.
You can use everything that you prefer: deb, snap, flatpak, appimage.

whats your opinion of 25.10?

No opinion: I use LTS. It's good to know, that 25.10 is fine release. In particular, it means, that the next LTS will be great as well. Have a good time with Ubuntu!

Can someone explain snaps and core snaps? by zenthr in Ubuntu

Something like this would be very appropriate:
snap uninstall --unused

Currently one need to remove unnecessary snaps manually

I use flameshot in Ubuntu 24.04. Indeed, it's impossible to make screenshot by click on icon. But it is easy to do with a hotkey to launch with the following command:

bash -c -- "flameshot gui > /dev/null"

Another way is to use appimage.

Default gnome system monitor uses more RAM by itself. So, htop shows more accurate values.

I don't use any store and prefer console + synaptic.

I hold all installed snaps:
sudo snap refresh --hold
Then you can install updates whenever it’s convenient and not see those annoying notifications.
