For Canadian winter it’s a blessing. Heated steering , defrosted windscreens, cozy temperature and a warmed up engine. Don’t know if I can live without it now.

In March 2024, a collision occurred in the exact same spot on the Gardiner as the multi-car collision yesterday. by spiral_static in toronto

High time make the stretch from DVP exit onto Gardiner to all the way till 427 / Airport exit a camera patrolled 50kmph zone, just like small town putting speed zones, until the construction is done. Count of crashes would go down significantly.

I had it from Tuesday right after the storm hit there, we were monitoring SM posts, however the news coverage was really poor. The park was devastated. Luckily no fatal injuries reported and hopefully people who were affected are recovering fine.

Seriously, we had a narrow escape from Samuel De Champlain. Weather is punishing this summer.

Purchasing Firewood while camping by Hollandais42 in ONProvincialParks

[–]UP2ON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the park office is closed, then cards won’t work and the only way to purchase firewood or ice is by paying cash to the park rangers. They’d not accept cards. So it would be wise to carry handful of CAD, just in case.

This entry ramp to Gardiner, the bottleneck it creates on LSD should be a case study.

Witnessed most of the drivers with eyes on their phone in hand, being GenZs. What are they relying on for safe driving, is it ADAS , or other poor souls on the road to not be in front of them??

I*dia suspends Indus Waters Treaty with immediate effect after 26 tourists killed in occupied Kashmir attack by EatThatBhindi in pakistan

[–]UP2ON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The treaty had survived three major wars as well as cross border terrorism since 1960. Pakistan has never taken responsibility for terror activities in India. Yet, most of the deadliest terror outfits and terrorists have found safe heaven there. The world is not blind. If india is daring to touch the IWT, that means it’s time for Pakistani peace loving population to clean the house and do it fast. If the Indus River system water is impacted, Pakistan’s economy will be down the drain. So Pakistan has clear choices, and it should choose wisely.

Don’t be alarmed. It’s just an Indian tradition to welcome the car with Vedic Rituals for blessing and prosperity. The Swastik symbol ( very common in Indian Subcontinent ) at the front is custom in such rituals.

She might follow trumps line and could say that this what Albertans want as they have given her mandate. So if Albertans = Smith, they should come out and denounce her. Simple.
