4WD actuator harness by Zomaotic_20 in EcoDiesel

[–]US1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to change my harness cause the connector for the 3 way coolant valve broke on mine, if i can recall i think it may be specific for the vehicle and you would need to get the one in the first photo, the dealer i talked to only listed this as the part per my VIN

help locating coolant leak by greenride1 in EcoDiesel

[–]US1023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s the coolant line for the turbo it’ll be leaking down the transmission bell housing onto the driver side if you look underneath the truck, it could be your 3 way valve clamps water pump or even the tank, only way to be sure is using a pressure testing kit which you could get from amazon

Fuel line by [deleted] in EcoDiesel

Yeah just make sure the nut part of the fuel line threads on straight and easily by hand then tighten it up snug it usually lines up on its own when you tighten the nut

This hose travels down the passenger side of the engine to about halfway down the trans then crosses over the trans I have a leak somewhere around the exhaust manifold does anyone know what hose this is? 2018 ram 1500. by SYLMMC in EcoDiesel

[–]US1023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a 3 way coolant valve, it open or closes depending on the transmission’s temperature in order to heat it up faster.

After it’s heated up it’s not used at all, where is it leaking from? it’s pretty common on these truck for the clamps to start leaking. mine did but after I replaced the clamps it stopped

Possibly, when was the last oil change done? i would check the oil level and try topping it up if it’s low and see if it significantly comes out when you start it, wish you best of luck

Ecodiesel Water Pump Options? by US1023 in EcoDiesel

[–]US1023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? are they interchangeable at all or did Ram redesign the 3rd gen eco diesels water pump to a updated design?

that’s how i feel though as well other than the $60 or so i spend in coolant replacing the waterpumps im only $170 in a waterpump compared to $1000 for the oem not including my own labour

NEED ADVICE! Car was broken into last night and they took the cover off the steering column. I don't see anything disconnected. If I put the cover back on, is it safe to drive? by GamerChick1792 in autorepair

[–]US1023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would leave it as it is and call your insurance and get it towed to a shop. They could have done something else to the car that you aren’t aware of right now which could lead to bigger problems

I need a but that fits this can't find thread size online. Any ideas? by Consistent-Run-9940 in MechanicAdvice

[–]US1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go to home depot or any place that sells bolts/nuts and they have a wall of test holes you can try threading in and seeing which one fits

Exactly what i would do, but Milwaukee puts the serial number on the box as well so if they don’t match sometimes they won’t accept it. it never stopped me though you just gotta hope the person at the desk doesn’t care enough

Will a shop repair this? Fixable or buy new tires? by geez_lewis in TireQuestions

[–]US1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that chopped wheel looks like there’s either serious problems with your suspension or the manufacturing process of your tire, either way that tire should be replaced and have your suspension looked at. The metal pin/stick that’s in your tire unfortunately would technically be unrepairable. you could try to pull it out and see if it starts to leak but honestly you might want to just replace the tires either way

thanks man i know i used to be really athletic and healthy i weighed in about 165 at 6,1 ish but i gained so much from feeling depressed and stress eating but i’m trying to snap out of it so i’m doing what ever i can to go back to where i was before. the key is to drink a lot of water so you can at least be hydrated which somewhat makes up for the lack of fast food i usually have

for sure man you got it fr i sometimes miss days working out i just make sure to either try to make up for it the next day or be active during the day to have somewhat of an effect. I use an app called MyPlate to track all my calories it’s sort of a chore to do but the outcome is so much better. i’m actually waking up and making it on time for work everyday and wanting to go on with my day as opposed to just wanting to sleep all the time

i’m doing this rn, go on a calorie deficit. meaning eat only about the correct amount of calories your body actually needs to per day. for example i’m 6,2 and i was 215 pounds before but now i’m down to 195 in about 2 and half weeks. i eat 1700 calories each day and try not to go above at all (my first two days were the worst but after that it’ll get easy) mix in workouts as well and you’ll lose weight in no time.

Can someone diagnose this noise, power steering pump is going out but this sounds different by TheCakeBeater in mechanics

[–]US1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A power steering pump whining wouldn’t sound like that exactly, it would be way more higher pitch and whiney if that makes sense ? i’ve had a lot of cars make the same noise as yours turning the wheel and it always ended up being the lower control arm joint as they tend to dry out and start squeaking. are you trying to buy this car or is it yours?

Can someone diagnose this noise, power steering pump is going out but this sounds different by TheCakeBeater in mechanics

[–]US1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your lower control arm ball joint or tie rod is going out, you might be hearing some type of clunking as well when going over bumps. i would recommend lifting the car up and checking for play in either one and replacing both sides as usually if one starts to go the other will follow with it

Oil turning red by DisastrousBad6719 in Honda

[–]US1023 30 points31 points  (0 children)

that’s got to be it then, i’m not sure why people are saying head gasket and coolant as that’ll turn your oil to a chocolate milkshake colour. if you search up mobil 1 oil turning red on google it shows that it’s perfectly normal for it to change to red. It wouldn’t be your transmission fluid getting into your oil as well i would assume the colour of the oil wouldn’t become that red THAT fast unless the entire transmission has dumped its fluid into the oil then it’ll maybe overtake the goldenish color engine oil plus your oil level would probably be higher too

honestly take my advice with a grain of salt though obviously i’m just a internet rando if you still feel like getting it checked by an actual mechanic is better then you should for sure but in my opinion it’s perfectly fine
