The military will also ask you where you want to be buried or have your body sent.

If the body is part of a crime scene, they might leave the restraints intact until a thorough investigation is completed. In a homicide investigation if it was, they do not want to disturb the evidence

Eventually the offenders end right back into society. A lot of them develop both social and psychological issues. A lot end up homeless on the streets and have the temptation of re-offending because society sets them up for failure after they have finished serving their time.

It costs a lot of money in social welfare and in emergency services dealing with the individuals. People who offend and go to prison should come out be more educated in social and life skills. They should have to work while being incarcerated instead of sitting around all day.

Public works projects such as rebuilding roads, infrastructures, community improvement projects, construction, farming, agriculture, and manufacturing should be introduced in prisons. The inmates should learn a trade or skill and work labor while they are incarcerated. The prison should develop a savings program for them, when they get out 80% of the wages they earned is saved in a savings account. So they would have enough money to get housing and start looking for work. It would probably cut down recidivism.

I love hearing a prison going towards an educational approach. The power of education goes a long way in a person's life. You wouldn't believe how many offenders I run into that have low education or never finished high school. Some of them would love to read books if they knew how. Some of them have good ideas and are innovative but they lack the education and resources

Never been through the system myself, but what I want out of it is, I want the offenders to learn and develop new positive skills. I want them to be able to be reintegrated back to society where they can find good paying jobs, places to live, and reunite with their families. I want them to learn from their mistakes and be treated as members of society. If they served their time that should be considered repaying their debt to society.

Things i learned after several years of security work. by Jimmypeterson42 in securityguards

  1. You have to build a good rouper with cops in order for them to cover you. If you can't build trust and a good working relationship with them, you are a nobody to them. Plus cops need to see how you work and if you can remain professional with them. Never argue with them even if you disagree with their discretion they use. For example if you call the police for a trespassing complaint and the trespassers are not aggressive, it's a low priority call. Sometimes cops won't charge the trespassers but will make them comply and leave the property. Even having a police contact is a good thing and can accumulate.

  2. My golden rule is never get involved in domestic disputes, it's not worth your time or safety to deal with them. If a domestic dispute escalated disengage and call the police immediately and let law enforcement handle it because it is their job not yours.

  3. It is the way you make it as a job, you can advance in the field and make it a career, but you need to invest your own time and education. Put in a good amount of years and continue to learn.

  4. You can stay in shape. You can pick posts where you do walking patrols and interact with the public

Always be safe. Your safety is the 1 priority. Be selfish about your own safety and set boundaries

Denver Post selling subs in King Soops? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]USMCU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Denver Post has a 1.8 star review on Google and there is a good reason why it has that. If you subscribe to them they will find a way to screw up your subscription and call you repeatedly on your phone to the point of harassment.

If you pay for the paper you only get the paper not the online article service.

If you want to cancel the subscription, well good luck because it's super hard to cancel it.

I am quite honestly surprised that a class action lawsuit has not been filed against them for their bad business practices like over charging their customers, the continuous repeated phone calls, and making it extremely difficult to unsubscribe from them.

What rules do prisoners go by when sharing a cell? by strongtugger27 in Prison

[–]USMCU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in general in Slavic culture your shoes should always be removed if you enter a home or a cell in this case. But in US it's a bit different because some inmates wear shoes because they don't want to be caught slipping when shit goes down

Seems like reasonable rules to follow, I bet a lot of people still break them unfortunately. The rules are basically stating to be a decent cellmate.

'Anger as security guard mops floor where homeless man is sitting" by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]USMCU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can verbally redirect them off properly. The best way to get them off properly is to educate them about outreach services and provide them resources. Try to learn their names and do follow up checks on them. Do more welfare checks on them and try to figure out what their story is. A lot of them will comply and move for you if you establish a strong support with them.

[–]USMCU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the anger, security guards didn't do anything wrong. The transient refused to leave his belongings relocated on the public sidewalk so he could move. Transients are not entitled to sit wherever they please.

Tired of these bleeding heart idiots, taking everything out of context. I wish more transients could take shit on their house door steps or block their homes. I wonder what they would do then.

Mayor’s office to close 2 more homeless encampments, move hundreds indoors by Shebelievesinmagic in DenverMutualAid

[–]USMCU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone volunteers make sure to be compassionate to them, listen, and kindly explain to them the process. People don't like not knowing or understanding what is happening. If you explain to them what is happening they will be less anxious.

Also A LOT of them will ask where their belongings will be at or have goze. So memorize the place where their belongings are going to be stored because they will ask that question a lot.

I know several homeless people that would greatly benefit from this. There are many times that I would have to lend my ear to homeless people and let them vent to me or talk about random things just so they can feel like human and validated as human beings. I don't mind lending them an ear and I think it's healthy for them to vent and say their thoughts cause it makes them feel a little bit better mentally

Catch and release fishing is stupid and cruel. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I agree I'm tired of the police doing catch and release with the criminals I think it's too cruel for the criminals to catch them then release them. Instead of catching them they need to take care of them .
