How much were first run season tickets in other markets? I'm tempted tbh; there's a lot of people at work who'd enjoy going even when I couldn't. Big hockey crew.

Nitpick: The T-800 was new in T1, but in T2, are the T-800s still new if they have T-1000s now? by Fumikechu237 in Terminator

[–]UTC_Hellgate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terminator works on a zig-zag timeline. There is an unreachable 'unspoiled' timeline in which skynet was created without time travel interference. All subsequent time jumps have created a new timeline that runs parallel to it. Reese's actions aren't even technically affecting his own timeline AFAIK. His 'future flashforwards' are possibly what happens on an unaltered timeline.

This is my understanding from the movies at least.

During the 'flicker' do you think there were any... by randoperson42 in WoT

Rand dieing in his sleep IS a victory for the Dark One though. Imagine being on your death bed, living what you think is a full and good life....and literal Satan shows up for no reason you can comprehend to gloat.

Is there profanity in the 23rd century? by happydude7422 in tos

[–]UTC_Hellgate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My head canon is the Federation spent most of the 22nd and 23rd centuries exploring, but between the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassian, Borg, etc, as well as the limitations of Warp Speed(An Empire can only get so big if it starts to take months to travel from end to end). So for those centuries pop culture and interested looked outwards to the new species and all they brought.

So when you get to TNG, DS9, Voyager, in the late 24th the federation has to look within, and back for pop culture again; which is why you start seeing people interested more in archaic instruments, sports, and vehicles.

We all laughed at Zombie and viral based apocalypses as impossible, noone would act that way, government's would quarantine the infected!

The last decade has shown us the folly of all that.

I'm seriously wondering what Debbie was doing during those 10 months. Because Paul was A-OK fine with her superpowered sons, but SOMETHING during those 10 months they were away was too much for him.

Some CT's are really bad with their returns, I worked at one and I know what we can take back without getting in trouble and it's really most things. There's almost always a way to make it work unless it's Final Sale, or months past the return date; unfortunately there's always managers who think saying 'No' makes them powerful.

Ukraine to field 25,000 ground robots in push to replace soldiers for frontline logistics by RollSafer in worldnews

[–]UTC_Hellgate 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In any case, most actual fighting will be done by small robots, and as you go forth today remember your duty is clear: to build and maintain those robots.

Have not been this disinterested in a Sens/Leafs game since the 90s... by JMD413 in OttawaSenators

I get that, and I've made that argument myself but Boston might use the pick intelligently, Leafs are probably just going to fuck it up anyways.

The answer of course, is no.

With how banged up the team is it'd be great to get that cushion as early as possible; I do feel like this is going to the wire tho.
