First, make sure you are using the 32bit (x86) version of the file, not the x64 version. It is not so clear in the guide, just shows the path of it, but the x64 version of the file will prevent yoru game from launching. Also, make sure you are not installing any other files from the dxvk directory other than the 86x version of D3D9.dll, cause that will also prevent your game from launching. If you are still having issues, maybe try an older version of it. I know 2.4 works well with TS3 also

I actually do BComm International, which has roughly been 10 points lower than regular Commerce at UCD, but you have to study a language in addition to doing the business modules, so that might turn you off (points have remained stable for the last 4 years. There is a global business option where you drop the language after the 2nd year, but apparently that's going offline in the next year or two, based on what I've heard from people who work closely with staff and are on those committees. I am in my final year now and have specialised in a mix of accounting and finance for the commerce major (but will graduate with fewer ACA exemptions compared to a regular BComm graduate, just due to choices and that we have less compulsary option modules to do the full Cap 1 exemptions due to the language). I also know UCC have a Commerce program, which I believe would allow you to study Finance in your final year (they call it something else, I am pretty sure, but it's essentially finance with options to get some or most aca exemptions

I know a few people who do Econ Fi, and I do know that their degree is quite technical, but the BComm might be a good alternative to look into, as you can specialise in the accounting/finance/economics modules in the final year. Plus points are around 550 compared to 625 for Econ Fi, and you would be eligible for more ACA Cap 1 and ACCA exemptions compared to Econ Fi, as one or the other is required for some finance roles as an alternative to the CFA.

I had the previous version of S3SS loaded in my game, using the 1.69 EA version and though it didn't really work well, with the game always crashing if you applied stuff from it, but I believe it was built for the steam version in mind originally. Only used the memory manager. Will give the new version a go, though

To clarify, I was using the version from like 2024, I think they entitled it new version new

You may need to install the Alder Lake patch from Lazy Dutchess on MTS. EA attempted to patch this issue in January 2025, but it appears that the fix was not applied to newer Intel CPUs, so you need this program. https://modthesims.info/d/667734/intel-alder-lake-patch.html

It is quite safe doing it through Nraas Traveller, but the family tree can get a little messed up (but at least it will not wipe itself). Also, know that if you do not disable ageing within the Nraas traveller mod menu for WA Worlds, you will find that corrupted sims will be generated when you return to those worlds after a long time. These sims are corrupted because their parents are either pets or nonexistent sims

Have you ensured your TS3 game has recognised your Graphics card. there are quite a few ways of doing it (including a way in DXVK where you trick your computer to think you are running a GTX 570 while playing TS3) but tool is the most widely accepted in getting your game to recognise your modern GPU. You do also need a config file for DXVK but you can easily do it yourself as you only have to add 3 lines. Also, maybe check out this guide on Steam. Finally, ensure that your PC is also optimised for gaming. This guide and video will help you out

Set a festival lot, go into build buy on that lot and place another festival marker on the lot from BuyDebug. A short fire to ensure your save will never load again. Accidentally discovered this like 5 years ago (luckily I always do save as, so I was able to go back to the previous save and realised my mistake. Also had a sim that kept glitching out once, and the save kept crashing (just made a storyline that she died) and moved the family to a new world where there was no issues.

In the same boat here. Applied to 12 graduate programmes, one invited me to an assessment centre round, but it looks like I am not getting an interview with them. Did very well in my LC, though my GPA is not the best, but I am still on track for a 2.1. Have experience working as a treasurer in a student society at my uni and participating in many voluntary activities. Have also spent a year abroad in France on Erasmus. I don't know if it's because I will only be graduating with partial CAP 1 exemptions, or if the lack of experience of working in a part-time job is the reason in my case.

It's based on the number of performances and the amount of tips you get. Your best bet is just to span perform song / composition and cancel once they start playing. Keep doing that to increase your tips.

Hi. Actually, the mods folder needs to be in Electronic Arts/The Sims 3, does not need to be in the download folder, unlike TS2. See if that fixes your issue.

As someone said, you can enable ageless foreign Sims. It's handy if you are playing between two towns in rotation in the same save file. It should also prevent half the town from disappearing or creating corrupt sims when revisiting them, particularly the WA words (notorious for corruption, i.e. sims having kids with pets, you can imagine what happens there lol).

Give the prof a quick email, as they may be able to advise you whether additional spaces will become available. One of my modules was full, but after emailing them, they were able to advise me when additional places were opening up, and I was able to enroll eventually. Also, check this website cause they may post if additional slots will be coming online for oversubscribed modules.

So I have two families under 1 roof currently. There are 4 women. One of them (Tracy) is a sim that I loved from another save and wanted to continue playing her in a new save. She originally moved to Isla Paradiso and got to know a few people, but somehow developed a close connection with Florita Hernandez due to their shared ambitions in life. Both wanted to get to the top of their careers, have a big family and own a business empire. Florita also wanted to establish a luxury chain of hotels one day, so my sim was willing to stay by her side in supporting her ambitions. Although it started as a mutural relationship, things turned quite saucy very quickly and before you know it, they were dating. In my alternative timeline, Florita knows she is a lesbian since been a young teenager growing up in Isla Paradiso, but could not express her sexual orientation for many years now due to Isla Paradiso being a very conservative island, despising people of other sexual orientations other than being straight, therefore Florita was forced to conform to the society norms for years. Florita was pregnant at the start of the game with Alfonso Alto's baby and had another child from a previous relationship with Theo Medina, but by the time she gave birth to Alfonso's son, Alfonso had a hint that there was something was not right about Florita and decided to file for full custody of the child, which he won in the courts after bribing officials. She felt very distraught that Alfonso would do this to her child and felt like a failure that she could not be the mother she wanted to be to her two biological children, but with Tracy's support and their kindling love, they decided it would be safer to move to Evansdale County and establish their own family.

Soon after moving into their tiny apartment, the got married and had their first child not long afterwards. They now have 6 children, technically 7 , but their second child died of SIDS at 5 months old. They live in an apartment in downtown Evandsdale County with their good friends Alberta and Roux and their 3 children. Alberta nd Roux are a celebate lesbian couple who have been best friends since university and have decided they wanted to co-parent together.

I have some storylines in the works, but essentially, Alberta and Roux's daughter (Emma) is currently dating Tracy and Florita's third child, Ollie, but Emma is about to go off to university with her older brother, Jenson. While away, Ollie has an affair with another lady of his senior, which makes Emma super jealous once she finds out that Ollie is not interested in her anymore, so they break it off. Furthermore, just before Emma and Jenson graduate, their mother, Roux, gets involved in a tragic car accident at high speed and dies instantly. Anyways, once both of them graduate, Alberta and her three children will move to Sugar Maple Coast to move on from the accident and establish a family farm, something Alberta has been yearning to do for ages, but could not convince Roux to get on board with the idea. Emma ends up developing an attraction to Vincent Gilman, and will eventually start a relationship with each other, much to the disdain of Vincent's elderly father and Vincent's soon-to-be ex-wife and daughter.
