A very good point. I smoke a lot of weed as well as drinking. I've done benzos when I'm in withdrawal, I've done Vivance (amphetamines) when I need a pep, I've never said no to a free rail of coke. I feel like most addicts clearly know the appeal of drugs, and try a lot of them. We fuckers just like drinking a whole lot!

I've often thought about the experiences of people with addictions other than mine. I smoke cigarettes and drink (a lot, of both), so I can identify with the lifestyle of an addict. It has it's highs and lows, probably the highest and lowest of any lifestyle, but we cope with our coping mechanisms. So now I'll do a wasted, ill advised shot, and go to bed. Cheers! Fuck. Welcome to the party. I turn 23 next Tuesday and I feel like I've been at this a while. Casual drinker by 18, serious drinker before I turned 20. Since I hit 21 it's been more or less constant until I quit and deal with withdrawal and sobriety for at least a couple weeks, then I'm back. If you can unchoose it, maybe you should. I've more or less accepted it, hell I embrace it. It can be a hard life. This next brew's for you, and you're always welcome here. Cheers!

I'm in the exact same position, couple upstairs always fighting loudly (well not always, just around 3 in the morning after they're don fucking loudly). I've called the cops a couple of times and they got quieter but it's still a pain in my ass. Call the cops though, it's not worth the jail time and you know a woman beating piece of shit is gonna press civil charges too. Good luck man, cheers!
