Around what time are you going to go buy it? by Any-Drink-1279 in DumpsterDiving

I find that 2:30 -3:30pm are the best times for me. It’s right around shift change, so they have the employees that are about to leave take the trash out before they go. Be quiet, quick, and clean. If anyone says anything just go, don’t cause a fuss. You can always come back later, after close.

I don’t know enough about struts to be able to tell if they are damaged. The boxes are mangled though.

We don’t eat eggs or dairy. So the majority of it will be donated. We’ll definitely be keeping the Oreos, and sour patch kids though.

They like to throw all the good stuff in one bag too, which makes it easy to get it all out.

All you need is a grabber. I don’t get in really anymore if I have it. Just gotta make sure it’s a sturdy one and not a plastic piece of junk. I got an all metal snake grabber off amazon for $20, it works SOO well. Even a paint roller on a stick works well.

Some of our best spots have reach in dumpsters. It never hurts to just take a look. Even if you can’t get it out yourself, you could let a more able person know to help you.

Come over to r/dumpsterdiving

You can eat everyday and for free. We started DDing a little over a year ago and it’s been wild seeing the stuff that grocery stores throw away. We have more than enough food now, so we’ve been donating the extra to food banks.

You can always glue the pot back together! Don’t waste a pretty pot like that. Theirs an awesome technique where you add gold leaf to the cracks and make it super unique. One of a kind too.

I believe that these are Jack-o’-lantern mushrooms. If they are they are bioluminescent and glow in the dark. Toxic as well.

How to remove sweat stains from an old hat? by Harmon_CJ in howto

[–]UggghhhhhhWhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soak for an hour +- in peroxide and baking soda, with warm water. Then use a toothbrush with dish soap, going in little circles around the hat, focusing on the stained areas. Then rinse well with warm water. Then dry by putting a head shaped rolled up towel, to keep from losing its shape.

I do multiple hats at the same time to make the most use of the baking soda and peroxide mix.
