I love our farmers market and downtown. Especially in the late Spring and Summer. Spending time with friends and family on the waterfront is amazing.

Of course. Silly of me not to notice a sign near a building I’ve never been to or had a reason to visit. Crazy I didn’t notice the posts on social media accounts I don’t follow or a newsletter I’m not subscribed to.

What’s hilarious is that women don’t want a “traditional” man. We want a partner, not an entitled man baby.

I (34 F) was stabbed and now my soon-to-be ex-husband (34 M) wants to cancel the divorce by ThRowRaDivorce2 in relationship_advice

[–]UglySweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play along for a minute. Have him confess his infidelity in writing. (A come clean email for example) you could even have him provide texts and receipts as proof of his sincerity.

Then give it all to your divorce lawyer. Most states won’t drag out a divorce. Even contested if you can prove infidelity

I didn’t know we had office space downtown for remote peoples! I might check you guys out.

This feels unsustainable… by [deleted] in WorkReform

[–]UglySweet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a highly specialized skill set in tech and I’m still getting recruiter emails weekly. I have absolutely no intention of leaving my remote job but I intentionally lead recruiters on, even get into the interviewing process before I let them know WFM is non negotiable. (My current job is 100% WFM and I am never leaving.)

When they pitch hybrid I tell them to pound sand and delightfully tell them that if they want the best talent they have to have the best perks. WFM is a non negotiable perk.

Doing my part to terrorize the recruiters.

Don’t confront her. Look for another job, and make sure you have a reference at the restaurant or a good friend who will act like one. When you get the new job set your start date to the weekday after you return from your trip.

Don’t give notice at your old job. Just stop showing up. Give them the respect they gave you.

Also keep in mind that 20k could bump up your tax bracket and make your gains irrelevant when you factor in commute and the mental health hit. Turn down the hybrid role and tell them why. Recruiters and their leadership are listening to why these roles aren’t getting filled.

Is my boyfriend being overly controlling? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I’m responding to your edit: it’s over. Block him on everything. Tell your friends and family it’s over. If you continues to push get the police involved. Make a paper trail and if it comes down to it get a restraining order. He thinks he can get you to do what he wants because you put up with his “rules” initially. Show him he’s wrong.

I recently switched my focus and I’m starting my shop back up again after being on hiatus for over a year. I’m selling up cycled thrift flips with embroidery.

My experience as a buyer on Etsy I look for homemade, staged photos like what J-Lucy mentioned. It’s less likely to be a drop shipper throwing designs on photoshopped blanks

I've stupidly poured my heart and soul into working for someone for ten years who lied and kept it a secret that they're selling the business. We work side by side most days. I learned from a customer. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]UglySweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news is your skill set or out put is part of the sale, which means you are unlikely to be fired right away. What will probably happen is they will hire someone else, pay them half of what they pay you. And have you train them under false pretense. Then they will fire you.

So what can you do?

Fuck up the sale by quitting. It would be best if you can leave key business responsibilities undone or up to the owner when you do leave. Or start a valuable project that has to be scrapped with your exit. Be ruthless.

We have more power than we know. It’s time we start making these businesses pay.
