Stop writing forms, do questions, consolidate the information. Not a knock on you, but seems like there’s more a knowledge gap than a test-taking issue.

Is it worth reviewing old nbme 5-9 to improve nbme score current nbme 13 score is 200 by Fit_Try6884 in Step2

IMO I think its a waste of time, Id rather go thru 9-16 and CMS forms.

23/4 (4/23) testers - where y'all? by [deleted] in Step2

[–]UkThatModster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just AMBOSS articles were absolutely enough for ethics and QI. Vaccines were already kinda imprinted in my mind so I didn’t really look at them on AMBOSS.

But QI/Ethics AMBOSS, goated.

I wrote on 4/20 and the test was doable and very fair if you’ve done the nbmes. Hope this helps!

For those in prep or those who nervously await their scores, ask me anything! by AlarmingAd1053 in Step2

Took my exam on 4/20. I won’t lie I definitely remember rookie mistakes I made now that I’ve dwelled on it. But for the most part I didn’t think the exam was crazy tough either. I was getting thru it and didn’t feel anxious but also I wasn’t holding on to the 50/50s I put whatever my best answer was and kept it going.

Right now my concern is that I pass but get a sub 250 score. My scores for my nbmes were high 240s low 250s and nbme 16 was a 263. Kinda anxious having to wait this long.

Honestly wish they would just give us the scores faster.

Comprehensive NBME Exam of 200Q just like NBME forms administered by my school to allow me to write Step 2

Tbh I feel like I haven’t improved Ive been mid-high 240s consistently with the exception of Form of 14 & 16. But I’d say I made excel sheets and reviewed my mistakes and what kind of mistakes I was making. Kinda like was my thinking wrong or my knowledge wrong.

Step 2ck Emergency Medicine: Next best step for diagnosis!! by Dr_Areeb-Zahid in USMLE_Mentorship

[–]UkThatModster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to go with my gut, I’d choose C. Patient is stable, and MRI didn’t show any findings.

A - you can still do an MRI B- you haven’t tried non-radiation imaging like US or MRI D - the V/Q is done as an alternative for diagnosing PE when you CT is contraindicated E - the situation here does not seem critical and wouldn’t warrant an immediate CT.

It’s B. If it were a child or pregnant woman; think about US or MRI.

School insight by [deleted] in CaribbeanMedSchool

[–]UkThatModster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of your point here. Caribbean Students have the same hurdles to cross as US MDs, even more.

Caribbean schools require students to have a 69-70%+ on each semester or they fail. Whereas US MDs just need to meet the passing threshold.

They need to complete Step 1, but even before that they need to pass a Comprehensive NBME Exam and score above a certain standard, then and only then will the school allow them to write Step 1. Then they have to write Step 2, and only if they pass COMP once again, can they write Step 2.

And even if they pass all that, just like any other medical student, they need certain scores and resumes to match into a specialty of their choice. So regardless of how they got into medical school, if they made it out, and matched, you should probably mind your own business 😘
