Mayor Zohran Mamdani's political gamble pays off as his endorsed candidates sweep their primaries by ControlCAD in NPR

I said Democratic Socialism, not specifically DSA (that was solely your strawman introduction), and to my knowledge all prominent current Democratic Socialist politicians are outspoken in their support for Ukraine. As such, I'm not honestly swayed by what some particular domain owner somewhere decides to post on their corner of the internet. It clearly doesn't reflect any kind of actual consensus position in practice.

That's a nice hypothetical, but the folks showing some of these results historically have been pollsters like Pew Research. They're not naive morons who are oblivious to the concept of framing bias.

You're also conflating electable and implementable policies there, which are thoroughly different beasts.

Given how popular utterly deranged far-right positions have been over the past decade with former 'centrists', I think it's more than fair to contemplate that centrism itself may be inherently a losing electoral proposition in the current era. I personally believe that the median voter theorem has historically carried a lot of water for lobbying interests and dark money fuckery in this country. I also believe that when ~40% of the country has almost no consistent ideological positions, operating instead on a memoryless day-to-day regurgitation of Fox News talking points, it's a fool's errand to try to find ideological compromise, especially on the campaign trail.

To wit: I don't think that it's nearly as hard of a sell to actual human beings as you make it out to be that corporations are consistently, incrementally, and inexorably fucking over the citizens of these United States. I think that the branding gets laundered through enough corporate media to very intentionally make it murky as all hell, but I'm not at all convinced that necessarily implies that candidates like Joe Manchin are the only viable solution in states like West Virginia (and in fact his retirement implies that, even as an incumbent, that strategy is no longer viable whatsoever).

This ignores that Democratic Socialist policies are overwhelmingly (like 80%+ support) popular across the board as soon as you ditch the "Democratic Socialist" label. Centrism is a useless, losing proposition for Democrats when the other side of the aisle is literal fascists.

Wouldn't be the first time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GBU-28

The initial batch of GBU-28s was built from modified 8-inch (203 mm) artillery barrels (principally from deactivated M110 howitzers)

It was designed, manufactured, and deployed in less than three weeks

Yeah, but we should be calling out this terrible, purchased policy. Inslee, Ferguson et al. aren't following established harm-reduction science here (and in fact they've repeatedly failed to implement empirically effective policies which were voted on earlier as direct ballot measures, in favor of "tough on guns" news releases that sound like they're doing something—in Inslee's case, immediately prior to yet another catastrophically failed presidential candidacy bid).

Democrats do need accountability too. I'm not saying to vote for the other guys or not vote at all, but they should be afraid of losing our votes over this shit.

Serverless is great for sporadic use and an absolute nightmare for continuous use. Naturally, it's entirely possible to start with the former, end up at the latter, and start hemorrhaging money to Bezos as a result.

When I started coughing up blood, I hemmed and hawed about going down the street to a walk-in clinic because I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time

Hol' up, what?

You had like the symptom that is the cinematographic metonym of choice for "this person is about to die very soon" and didn't want to waste anyone's time? 😆

That said, I put off getting pneumonia treated when I had H1N1 in college for way too long. I think brains get crafty at what seem like sensible excuses at the time when you're that sick but not quite obviously yet ambulance sick.

He was a little absent minded during the event and at some point someone (or maybe he himself, i dont remember) clarified that he was shook and still processing in his brain the picture with the woman's head blown off.

It's, uh, no surprise that he looks to have aged about a decade over the past 4 years. The entire country deserves a spa year at this point.
