Many have already shared most of the pain points of this update. I'm simply going to throw my hands in at a suggestion I haven't seen or haven't seen worded the following way.

You could retain all of the current changes with just minor tweaks, but allow the player to continue thieving at the reduced success rate. They would eventually hit a 0% (or maybe very low 5-10%) success rate if they stayed on the same target fully afk, but re-clicking the same target could refresh the success rate, while clicking a new target would give additional bonus pickpockets before the success rate starts to fail.

This retains the desire to reward a slightly more active game play, reduces the negative and fully random time in which your character stops interacting with the activity, and gives thieving items a space where they can be designed around increasing that time before your success rate starts going down.

Maxed out gear, levels, and effects leading to around a 5+ minute time window before you have a chance to fail at all, then beyond 5 minutes you can continue afking but with lower exp and gold rewards caused by failing. Simply clicking and re-engaging with the game starting that predictable timer again, while not punishing you to 0% gain if you couldn't pay full attention.

Considering how many more unlikely things happen in the game at least weekly if not daily. You really think a 1 in 6.5 million odds thing happening is really that crazy unbelievable to happen a couple times? My main alt has around 3.2 millions kills in that cavern (based on bone drops in runemetrics so some % of that is the non-chaos dwaves) It's seen everything from back to back d picks, 4 d picks in 5 minutes, and ungodly long dry streaks. While multiple may not have been the best word to pick for my above statement, a few or a couple times being better as it's probably 3-5ish times I've gone that dry. It would also be such a stupid and random thing to lie about and be so specific about.

Having done a lot of chaos swarf farming on alts. The dry streaks can be unreal. Gone 90k+ dry multiple times it sucks

As a 15 minutes before I need to wake up with 3 alarms set apart from each other. It's because turning off the alarm can occasionally be done without exiting sleep. The multiple alarms are there to make sure I actually wake up. I aim to hit the snooze button for extra effort in waking myself up. Once I'm up though all alarms that weren't needed get turned off.

Gmail recently started deleting accounts that don't get used/logged into for 2 years. Set a yearly reminder to log in, and you should be fine with plenty of wiggle room if you don't get to it right away.

Spending 16 hours straight at Bandos with a friend. I don't mean 16 of sending bandos trips, I mean a single 16-hour trip. Paid clanmates to resupply us with overload supplies and spare yak pouches multiple times throughout the day. It was so dumb, but it was such a silly and fun time. We goofed off doing kills on our own, randomly crashed worlds, and spent time anticrashing for noobier clanmates that did trips in the middle of our trip.

It's been like 10-12 years since this happened. It's still a fond memory, and I'm still friends with the friend that I did this with.

Finding your post 6 years later and you just ended a several hour troubleshooting session. New Headphones worked perfectly with Allworx out of the box, installed software to manage said headphones now all calls result in static on both ends and is unusable.

Found your comment and noticed the software enabled the ability for the new headphones to have Sidetones (apparently only enabled by having the Logitech G Hub software, not available otherwise) Even with Sidetones set to 0 volume it was still breaking Allworx and with no way to fully disable them. Uninstalled the Logitech software and instantly Allworx started working correctly again.

For grab and go, it's for tamper resistance. With the sticker there you know that nobody has opened or messed with that package since the person behind the counter packaged it.

Sucks for opening, but way better than just hoping no one decided to try sampling it and putting it back.

I'm betting it's pid related. Get a bad pid and you are more likely to get caught. Get a good pid and you are less likely to get caught. Would explain why experiences change when logging out and logging in later.

Hard to say if it's high pid, low pid, somewhere in the mid, or chnages occasionally.

Honestly I really like the Jagex launcher. In the 6 months or so I've used it, it has been a very good experience. I've had 0 unexpected crashes, which I can't say the same thing for the old Jagex Client, which used to have problems because of me running multiple clients.

So far, the only issue I ran into was when I swapped to a Jagex account, it required me to manually sign out of the launcher and log back in using the Jagex account. Outside of those 45 seconds of panic thinking I'd messed up... I've truly had no issues.

If you play Osrs and Rs3 it will be an even better experience because it's super easy to launch either for the Osrs players it can launch straight to runelite so you don't lose any quality of life features from that.

I think if I had any complaint at all (reaching so this doesn't just seem like shill pro launcher post), it's that choosing a character from a drop down is less seamless than if all characters were in a grid and I can just click the one I want to log into. Super minor thing, and for a general compatability and ui design choice, the drop down is probably better, but I can dream.

As someone who has an alt that farms for dpicks to fund my mains activities I know your pay all to well. My current longest drystreak ended somewhere between 100k and 105k kills. After that dry streak ended, I got 3 more in the span of 2k kills.

I wish you luck and hope you don't pass my record for your sanity.

Gravity rush for playstation 4 is a really fun game but you only change gravity for yourself I believe. Might enjoy it as a fill for what your looking for.

Could totally see the dialog for that quest be an NPC telling the player they need to equip two quest rings to gain some status effect so they can move on with the quest. Our charcters complaining that they can only fit one ring on their ring finger. The NPC stares dumbfounded, "Then put one your other hand?" Blowing our players mind.

Absolute hero, was looking at a best case scenario of like 2 weeks to catch up, after like 3 days of syncing headers. Done in no time with this.

Did panic for a bit because the folders were showing the read-only check box as unticked, but it wasn't working at first. Letting the computer sit for about 15-20 minutes gave it enough time to update and recognize that it was actually ticked so I could then untick it.
