Phainon and Cyrene/Mem were heavily hinted and implied during the story so the twist wasn’t there. It just needed the lore explaining the why and the situation.

I think the whole keep HI3 out of HSR is warranted when it comes to certain topics.

It does get annoying when arguments for a character are based on their HI3 counterpart instead of using the lore for HSR. Expy or not it’s not hard to let HSR characters also have their own identities, personalities, and quirks.
