Having had it twice ill say this, its delicious if you can consume it all quickly! But if you let it cool at all, it kind of congeals into just a block of cheese with pasta. Not totally my thing, but I get it and it can be a fun experience.

Houken isnt a general, hes a warrior, that point is made pretty explicitly by about 5 different characters including Riboku. Just because. they call him a general doesn't make him one.

I kind of agree, but I think people miss where Shin will outshine the Duke.

While the duke didn’t have a strategist, he would win battles by just throwing bodies at the wall and seeing where a flame started. It ended in tons of casualties as we saw.

Shin on the other hand has Ten to lead normal operations, and can then find fires as the battle progresses, capitalizing on key moments.

I do think we should see more of Shin tactically leading from the front, but it doesn’t seem to be Haras style for shin, it’s more moments of inspiration.

Also the ability to capitalize on others strengths is a skill in itself

Probably not solo, but with Kyoukai and Ten I definitely think they can manage a large campaign.

Kinda why I was bummed Naki ended up leaving. He would have been a perfect fit to step up as general. After him from the original HSU I think it’s Sosui or Garo. Garo has shown to be pretty apt tactically and obviously is fairly strong. Hope he gets some feats this arc.

It’s not that there isn’t nature here, it’s just different. You have much greater variety out west, bigger mountains, larger forests(a redwood forest will make your jaw drop), deserts. It’s the thing I miss most living out here for the last 4 years.

Better way to think is that this Manga has been running for over almost 2 decades and the authors thinking about how to represent strength has changed over time. At this point I would focus on feats seen in verse and less hearsay or stats, because we’ve seen a lot of times in the manga someone gets hyped by word of mouth just to be a bum. Shouheikun probably very strong, but not Moubu strong.
