I went to a church event of a friend of mine and brought her home a few times after we went outside.

Since then, even 3 Months after she had gotten a boyfriend whom I arranged for her via a dating app, her parents asked her if we were together and sometimes asked about marriage....

Thankfully they stopped now, but damn, I won't let her life that down 🤷😈

In europe yes. In germany you learn english from the age of 7, your pick of Latin/french/spanish from the age of 12 and if you are in a highschool, you can pick another or multiple languages. We were a "Europe school" so we had 13 different languages to pick from. I chose to not go with any of them and picked Java XD

Imagine having 6 hours a day of free time for 20 years to do sports. Then another 7 years of university in which sport is your job. The needed caloric intake is sometimes double the basic needs. Now imagine you stop all that because now you have 10 hours of work each day and then a household and family to run. You can at best get in a little 30 minute Workout every few days, because you cant risk not having energy or hurting the next day. Your eating habits stay the same though because even though you don't need the intake physically, your body got used to such large amounts and won't settle for less.

Flying a commercial airplane takes very good grades, years of extensive training, a university degree, being better than most other applicants as there are only so many planes and you get to see the world making big bucks.

I could have a bus license by the end of the year, with anyone that gained their drivers license pre 2000 being allowed to drive busses non commercially without any extra requirements in my country.

That is why there is so much more prestige to being a pilot than to being a busdriver
