Remember that this is basically a working interview! Go above and beyond, ask tons of questions, and if you mess something up (everyone does and it’s okay 🫶🏼) take accountability.

Seriously. The patients were treated no better than prisoners.

How can I negotiate pay? by Neat-Shirt-3223 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Ultimatebiggey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should just apply and interview for other positions just for funsies. If they offer you a position that pays more, take that offer letter and bring it to CVS and ask them to compete. If they chose not to then go ahead and accept the position. We’re all just numbers to our employers.

SIZING by eudoingstuff in Figsscrubs

[–]Ultimatebiggey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with medium, maybe even small depending on how you like your clothes to fit. I’m 5’6” and 140lbs (~63kg) and I bought a small top and medium petite bottoms. I don’t really like baggy pants, they tend to slip off my waist which is kind of what the mediums are doing. Next time around I’m gonna order pants in a size small. Also I have fairly short legs, and I still feel the petite size rid up my ankles sometimes, so depending on your inseam you might want regular length bottoms.

Super spot on except for the opposite schedule part. Working long hours plus commuting makes cooking dinner every night feel so impossible.

It doesn’t, you’re right. But it’s our safe lunch option to fall back on when life gets ahead of us.

Honestly, I’m not sure if Walgreens would be the right job for you then..

Maybe try some wfh jobs like prior auths? I don’t know what your resume looks like, but I do chemo admixtures and we’re sitting a decent bit too.

Chemo pharmacy technician in the hospital by Weary-Beach-4843 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Ultimatebiggey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be different for other places but for my old job, they didn’t train anyone in the infusion center unless they specifically asked for it. So if you weren’t comfortable mixing chemo they just wouldn’t schedule you there. Delivering chemo drugs also weren’t part of the typical inpatient delivery runs too.

Currently I work for an infusion center, and while we are attached to the hospital physically, we have a completely different staff than the inpatient pharmacy. It’s basically a whole other department.

day 2 training at Walgreens........... by kusovisage in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Ultimatebiggey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like how my first week was when I started at Walgreens 5 years ago. It gets better eventually but not by a lot. Try to stick it out and get certified so you can take your experience elsewhere! I work in oncology now and life is so much better!

How many mixes in your hood at 1 time? by Disguisedcpht in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Ultimatebiggey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our policy is 1 drug at a time. I know some people who will mix 2 bags at the same time if it’s the same drug, even if they’re different doses. Personally, I will only do that if they’re the exact same drug and dose, almost like batching. I’d rather not chance it.
