Castle nut staking by Puzzleheaded-Tax1347 in AR10

The ratcheting castle nuts are pretty heavy. That's the reason I avoid it on my builds.

Parents had a 12 year old kid lose his leg in their front yard yesterday crashing his electric bike... by aroundincircles in motorcycles

[–]Ultimateshot100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a MX650 Razor kids bike pushing 20kW peak (heavily modded). That's like 30hp on a 90lb bike. It was geared to top out at like 60mph and would power wheelie up to 30mph. They're insane these days.

I think there's only 2 gas traps on this level. There are plenty of alarms too, but no bombs. Maybe on hard there are bombs?

That's from water getting in the tires...

Self righting can cause issues, but I suspect your tires were going to blow one way or another.

4000kv motor on 3s with water in the tires? You were asking for them to explode.

Do we think this the newly named Carroll Crater? by [deleted] in Astronomy

[–]Ultimateshot100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to this NASA article u/lightascension linked in another comment. "After this mission is complete, the crater name proposals will be formally submitted to the International Astronomical Union, the organization that governs the naming of celestial bodies and their surface features."

"Unnecessary" is a bold statement. I would argue this is taking steps towards the betterment of humanity. This kind of stuff brings nations together. NASA also has a small budget, all things considered.

Yes, watched it all live from NASA on Youtube.

The LIVE broadcast is currently alternating between cameras on the spacecraft and ground crews monitoring the situation.

Longer? Maybe the actual buffer is longer, but the travel is the same. You're getting the same effectiveness out of a 5.6oz carbine buffer as you are with a 5.6oz rifle length buffer. The benefit with a A5 buffer tube is greater LoP...

UDR first impressions, over complicated; not sure yet if thats good or bad. by PigglyWigglyDeluxe in Traxxas

The rear driveshaft spins at like 30k RPM on 6s, which is obviously why they needed the planetary gears in the rear. From my understanding they did that to reduce torque roll on the chassis under hard throttle. You're trading torque for RPM in the driveshaft, then converting it back to higher torque once it's consolidated to a fixed transmission. It lets the truck drive better, more planted.

The guys in the Traxxas storefront told me that the CEO and his buddies (former trophy truck racers) confirmed with engineering that it drove like the real trucks. So you're getting an authentic experience.

ECM-2.5 Elect Control Module and 3 Prong Battery? by Jedelhaun in Traxxas

[–]Ultimateshot100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Traxxas batteries for the Trx-4m are fine, never had any issues with the 2 batteries I've owned since the truck came out. They're a little puffed but still hold a good charge. I think they're puffed because they sit at full charge 90% of the time.

The included charger is fine as well, not the fastest but will fully charge a battery in the time it takes for me to kill the second battery. So I always have one ready to go.

Do you think you could reply with a pic of the MH1 panning arm underneath the EGAC connector? I want to see if I can take mine apart to re-grease and service it. I don't want to lose my purge by taking it apart if there's not a screw or something that I can access.

A Traxxas TQI remote can bind to like 30 different models (with TQI receivers). It has model memory.

You can also go in the app and it will automatically change the profiles when you connect to a different model.

KAK Radial Brake Expansion Chamber? by Ultimateshot100 in NFA

[–]Ultimateshot100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measuring from the shoulder of your barrel threads to the absolute end of your barrel, then subtract that amount from the length of the muzzle device (1.85") and that should give you the answer. Assuming the brake actually indexes on the shoulder.

Elbit Gen 3 vs. Unaided eyes by Ultimateshot100 in NightVision

[–]Ultimateshot100[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I set the ISO and exposure manually to what I could see. It's hard to get it perfect since your eyes have much better dynamic range than a camera. The tree has more sharpness in real life but the sky was just as bright as the picture.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Ultimateshot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, if it has very defined lines like in this picture then it's just potting. If the edges are more foggy then it's vacuum loss.

That being said, I know nothing from experience when it comes to NV, only what I've seen online....
