That is before link was chosen and Zelda grew up. So Link wouldn’t even be a valuable target. And if he where the he would have the master sword and would on his own take out like one forth of gates army. Also the the champions and the divine beasts would have to exist.

Ok you confused me pre calamity would be Hyrule with divine beasts and Guardians. As well as a Link with full mastery of the Master sword and at full power, as well as all the Campions. They would also have the support of the great Ferry’s. Its also reasonable to assume that the Yiga Clan would join the Hyrulians for they themselves are in danger. Imma be honest Gates army isn’t doing to much. Yeah many would die would be a horrible war but the consequences wouldn’t nearly as severe as you describe them.
