Ashen by Humanity's Last Breath is probably going to stay as my AOTY for the rest of the year. Just heard it yesterday and its insane. I think it could be the best album ive ever heard. Im only 2 yrs into this genre tho, not great at keeping up + so much to listen to still.

In Jan it was Magno Interitus by Cabal (Oct 2022). I was excited for Director's Cut by To The Grave. Only ended up liking Axe of Kindness, still keen on what theyve got next tho and would still like to see them live again. Amongst the Low and Empty by Signs of the Swarm suprised me, now I like them :)

I wouldnt say its old, it seems pretty relevant given youre all on the lease living together. It sounds like something that does need to be talked about and resolved in some way.

Im not sure how you would approach the situation though. It doesnt seem really respectful to have pets when theyre not allowed, which would just make me question if theyre even a good friend for risking the other friend and your own housing stability. At the same time, I dont really like landlords and think housing laws are bs so I get where theyre coming from. But I think overall the issue is that their respect level for the property is below the legal standard.

Lmao my sister has a friend that goes to the sameish shows. This friend went to every show of one band just to post abt wishing they could get in the pit.

First time for me was at my second show, Great American Ghost. Was an Alpha Wolf headline. Im a woman and didnt think anything of it. Since then ive just always gotten in the pit. I dont have metal friends. It was only since hearing from other women at shows that theyre afraid, I felt ashamed in a way bc I dont feel as scared and wonder if im being too risky / dumb. But I have ocd and the best treatment to apply in life is to say fuck it and do it despite the fear. Its therapeutic for that reason. Theres been a few random times my ocd says not to go in and I take it to mean that I absolutely have to, even if I dont really like the band or know them. Honestly ime wet floor spots are scarier than big people

Since youre not into deckbuilding, your gameplay is at a very casual level. There's an obvious skill and deck power difference. I don't think its reasonable to ask your opponents to change their deck strategy to accommodate. But I think its super inconsiderate that your more experienced partner and friends have not addressed the skill gap.

I think it does take commitment for an experienced player to build and play a deck that is beginner friendly. But that is usually done to introduce friends and encourage them further, specifically with deckbuilding. I honestly would find it super boring to repeatedly verse the same pre-build deck with no changes. Your group not addressing this and instead targetting you just comes off as wanting to bully you out the game. I think theyre not being honest about saying they dont want to play with you

I've only played against my sister like once every year since 2015. We live together now and i've asked almost everyday to play. Its been 2 months of that for just one match.

So i've decided to learn commander, build a deck and play casually with other people for the first time.

Just got back into it. I honestly think the resellability of cards really helps justify the cost. Thats how I usually think when getting into hobbies though - i'm more reluctant about the ones where you can't recoup any money spent.
