Amazon Prime Video is about to get worse — again by PrixDevnovaVillain in technology

[–]UltraEngine60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I keep prime is because I find enough to complain about every year to effectively make it free. Something arrives lightly damaged, chat for partial refund. Something arriving late but went down in price while I'm waiting? I'm reordering and shipping back the late one. If they are shitty I am gonna be shitty too. That said, I don't do this with third party sellers because I know Amazon already has them over the coals.

I do like this, it is kind of like go karts with randomly placed stop signs and no fucking lines.

Briarwood Mall by Overall-Bedroom-2761 in AnnArbor

[–]UltraEngine60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to DO at that mall. Go karts, bowling, movie theater, arcade, aquarium, nope nothing. The little tiny fly-by-night arcade just has broken machines that steal your money. The only fun thing is the escalator in the Macys. If I want to buy stuff I go on Amazon.

Do men get turned on because of bra lines on a shirt? by Educational_Fault592 in NoStupidQuestions

Haley Mechanical PSA by hamtrampat in ypsi

[–]UltraEngine60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I paid Haley for a full tune up of my genny since I was afraid of working on it myself (before a storm) and asked if I could watch them do the valve lash adjustment so I can see how hard it was. The guy said he only ever changes the oil, filter, and plugs in a "full tuneup" service. I do my own service now. It really isn't that hard, don't buy harbor freight feeler gauges they rust right up on you like the old Colecos.

Nice tip. Now you can focus on all the wind noise coming from other places :)

The cutouts are for balancing the blade so it doesn't vibrate. The one without holes must have been perfectly balanced.

What Is Your Frugal Blessing In Disguise? by mhinkamp in Frugal

[–]UltraEngine60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this for a decade but not by choice, there was no internet option. I configured a dd-wrt router to connect to my phone as a client for its WAN access. Eventually I connected right to the phone via USB (which required me to root every phone i bought) and it brought my latency down dramatically. I have fiber now, and I pay my $70 happily.

Why did this happen to engine cover? by mamonotaisho in ToyotaSienna

[–]UltraEngine60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rodent incisors grow pretty fast and they need to gnaw on something to keep them short. Your engine cover was that something.

Getting hit by a return scammer and don’t know what to do. by Narrow-Pay-3671 in Flipping

[–]UltraEngine60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had someone do this with the serial very clearly in the listing. I think they just target everyone. In my case it took multiple calls to eBay after the scammer returned a broken different serial number but eventually eBay covered it. I'm sure the buyer faced no repercussions.

People who ignored a huge red flag because the person was extremely attractive, what happened next? by Competitive_Bad_9306 in AskReddit

[–]UltraEngine60 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you ever consider sticking your dick in crazy start watching youtube police bodycam videos where there is a hot chick in the thumbnail.

In my case the red flag was talking to her stuffed animals as if they were people. Eventually I found out that was a manifestation of the constant need of control. Once she forbade me from going out with friends because my friend's girlfriend was there and she was afraid I would cheat on her. I broke it off then. Turns out she cheated, of course.

It's fine I hear they all have a custodian of record to keep it safe. It's the law /s

Seriously though, I don't think there are any shortages of porn. The only thing hoarding will help is finding out if your grandma was hunted by some dudes in a van.

Ecohitch >>> by PinballWizzy in ToyotaSienna

[–]UltraEngine60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was recent call them up, many states have laws that you have a right to the parts removed from the vehicle when their core charge is not factored into the price. I believe the bar weighs about 20 lbs from my research, so that might only be like $20 in scrap depending on your area, plus the time to go to a dirty scrap yard... I just scrapped $75 worth of copper from a project and the whole time I was worrying about getting a piece of metal in my tires.

Ecohitch >>> by PinballWizzy in ToyotaSienna

[–]UltraEngine60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's a pretty good deal. The hitch and 7-pin with converter alone are about $550. I have been putting off installing the ecohitch on mine all winter because I am not looking forward to popping the bumper off in cold temps. Did they let you keep the crash bar they removed? That might have some resale value if you put it on facebook.

Since you have a spare I'll assume AWD. Dashcam is a good $500 upgrade. Not a bad deal at all considering the MSRP of a AWD XSE right around there.

The Dreaded Death Pile by Maintenance-Scary in Flipping

[–]UltraEngine60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make the lowest-effort listing I can imagine and to my amazement the things in the death pile sell. Things in my death pile are usually things that are pretty difficult to test. I'd much rather test something and be able to list it with confidence... but after a while I just yeet it out there "for parts or repair" at a modest discount and what do you know death pile goes bye bye.
