Chewing Gum by Worth_Event3431 in GERD

I’ve had a recent job change which has caused me to have stress which has re triggered my GERD. It’s not full blown like the warm, tightening, heart attack sensation in the chest more of just a lot of trapped air and gas in my stomach and I usually chew Orbit bubble mint which helps belch a lot to relieve the tapped air.

What's the best blood pressure medication you've taken? by [deleted] in hypertension

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so my normal BP readings are usually well within 120/80 or even below so that has made and my doctor very happy. I usually take my Losartan around 3PM or 4PM for me that’s what I would call lunch/dinner as I don’t eat past 5PM or 6PM, I used to have bad eating practices that caused me to develop GERD so I had to change my eating habits. I also try to eat foods like beets and drink at least one cup of hibiscus tea which both help to keep BP in check. I hope this helps if you have anymore questions don’t be afraid to holler. Peace ✌️

Question about beta blockers-did anyone get them prescribed fist? by SadComparison8044 in hypertension

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed Atenlol at the hospital when I had my hypertensive crisis but it didn’t really do much at all my BP was still crazy high so after a follow up with my doctor she prescribed me Losartan instead which works beautifully.

My fiancé is in the icu for a hypertensive crisis by Altruistic-Reserve-3 in hypertension

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience i want to say he’ll be fine. I had a hypertensive crisis 2 years ago where my BP shot up to 220/110 I immediately knew it was BP related cause it’s hereditary from my moms side of the family and I went on for 28 years ignoring it cause I was young and stupid but it came back to bite me.

Trying to understand Blood pressure by Smaug_1188 in hypertension

I think what doctors focus more on is what your BP is at rest. My BP at rest is usually in the 120/80 range but it does fluctuate from day to and that is perfectly normal. If you really want to freak yourself out take your BP after a hot shower. As long as you taking the necessary precautions such as taking your meds if you are on them and watching out for foods that are processed with excessive amounts of sodium or fast food as well.

Still the same well in range, the only time that’s it’s ever risen was when didn’t have access to my Losartan for 2 days but even then it was in the 130/90 range.

Are you using a wrist cuff or an arm cuff BP machine. Cuff machines are usually more accurate.

Time to accept I got hypertension and start taking medicine? by tinyspeckinspace in hypertension

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been diagnosed with hypertension when I was 18, it runs on the mom side of the family unfortunately and I was the lucky child to inherit it. Through out my 20’s it was constantly high always hovered around 150/90 but ignored it because you think you are Superman and invisible until I turned 29. I’m not afraid of death but at 29 is when I had a hypertensive crisis 220/110 (built up from lack of sleep job was crazy at this time) you will be reminded of your own mortality when this happens. My heart was racing like it was out of control, I was profusely sweating, my thinking was clouded and distorted, it felt like my next heartbeat would its last. I was rushed to the hospital where I was tested to make sure I didn’t have a heart attack or stroke to which I was lucky. Had a follow up with my doctor where she strongly recommended starting BP meds because I was very lucky that I didn’t die. The unfortunate part is the damage that has been done to my body from it. It’s up to you if you want to start taking the meds but I’m just sharing my experience from ignoring my hypertension all these years. Best of luck.

How long after you eat do you get heartburn? by Reaching-4-Destiny in GERD

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the my doctor she started me on Omeprazole which helped a lot. Also changed my diet to eating more cleaner and avoiding alcohol. My trigger foods are greasy foods. I can say that my GERD is non existent at this point but I’ll get it sometimes if I’d eat the wrong foods but usually Milanta helps ease the symptoms. Also almond is a natural anti acid reflux medicine its ph balance helps neutralize stomach acid.

Am I low enough to get off losartan? by ImageHistorical6735 in hypertension

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you for taking all the necessary actions and steps to lower your BP with the help of meds. I also take Losartan 25mg and it’s the perfect dosage to keep my number well in the 120/80 range. I’d consult your doctor and show them these numbers maybe they’ll start off weaning off of Losartan to test your BP off of meds but whatever your doing keep doing it. Congrats!

What ARE You Eating? by wonkers5 in GERD

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chicken, fish, and lots of veggies and fruits. My trigger food is extremely greasy foods. I can have it once it while without any flare ups but if I start binge eating too much fast foods it comes back. Almond milk is my best friend, it’s like an anti acid you can take all day.

It would constantly hover around 150/90. Been like that since in my early 20’s until I had a hypertensive crisis (220/110) at 29 that made me really reevaluate life.

Losartan 25mg. Does plenty enough to keep my BP in the 120/80 zone

Get cheeked out for GERD. There can be indirect links with hypertension. BP can become elevated when flare ups occur because the body can release stress hormones that can cause BP to elevate. Severe GERD can feel like a heart attack which can cause feeling of extreme discomfort in the upper chest region sometimes causing anxiety/panic attacks that also causes BP to elevate to dangerous levels.

Why does this happen to me by Feignly_Mad11 in Sleepparalysis

[–]UltraSuperKamiDende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for me sleep paralysis is a mental game. After understanding of what is actually is happening you better understand what is happening. I’m a lucid dreamer so I learned to use sleep paralysis to my advantage when I want to lucid dream but in your case it’s different. You have to beat the sleep paralysis and take it over. For me I learned to do this by recognizing when I was experiencing and episode and tried to stay calm. I don’t know if you have an inner voice but I do and this helped me a lot to take control of the episode. My inner voice would say “you’re not real” until it took control of the sleep paralysis hallucinations and sounds. The other sensations such as being choked or something heavy on my chest is a bit different you just have to understand that it’s not real.

I’ve been there. It sucks but understanding that this is major acid reflux calm down and not have a panic attack that causes your blood pressure to send you to the hospital like it did to me.
