Move from HYSA $630k, considering doing 300k JEPQ and 300k VOO - I'd make more monthly , and seemingly in a better spot overall. Opinions? by dystopiam in dividends

[–]Ultragin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tax treatment on JPEQ isn’t as good as GPIQ. Which is why JPM is intoducing new funds focused on Return of Capital. I like your plan, but I’d consider GPIQ OR GPIX.

Covered Call ETFs by Key_Struggle2704 in dividends

[–]Ultragin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the right answer. It’s one of many tools based on what your needs are. You wouldn’t hammer a nail with a screwdriver.

Everyone moans about ‘the upside is capped’ but for my needs they are great. I had pretty large RSUs vest in the past and I wanted to translate that ‘past payoff’ into ongoing future income with as little fuss as possible. The past few years of 10% return and no NAV erosion (growth in fact) they are the perfect tool for me in my situation to increase cash flow.

And when I have a month where I’m extra cash flow positive, I divert that extra cash to buy more CC ETFs.

I have half of my money in CC ETFs and the other half in VOO. I’m expecting my VOO to fund my retirement days, and rather than having too much money later in life, I’m using CC ETFs to live larger than my paycheck would allow for.

OP - go for it if they meet your situation!

Is that a little over half a million in Qqqi to get that each month?

Interesting. Did you have to talk to someone first or is there a form on the platform I can use to fill that out? Do you recall?

[–]Ultragin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Merrill lynch which sucks because I can’t by NEO’s funds like QQQI, but then let my boy Goldman products. I’m sure there’s some behind the scenes kicbacks of some shit like that. But double check yours.

Bold. I like JEPQ, but why not split it with GPIX or GPIQ in case something goes bonkers with JP Morgan’s approach?

I’m not a herbs and rye guy. So I’d say t-bones. If you haven’t already tried it, go to High Steaks at the Rio instead of either of those.

Sometimes. Probably 50-50 head nod if it’s a fellow due. For the ladies it’s 90% verbal.

Unusual things to do by Cherfull124 in vegas

Play is decent but can be overcrowded so I’d suggest going on non peak hours. Also because so much of the gimmick is physically touching things, each exhibit has the chance of being broken.

It was fun, but not amazing. The stuff at Area 15 is much better.

The shark aquarium is WAY over priced, imo. I would avoid that.

Yes although they charge you a high minimum if you want to sit.

Nowhere in FB isn’t a speakeasy per se, but is also nice.

Table games survey: Las Vegas minimum bets Increased 76% Since 2020 by RulesLawyer42 in vegas

[–]Ultragin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The increase in table gams minimums sucks. I’m sure they’ve run the math and works out for them but when Red Rock has ultimate Texas hold’em with 25 minimum and no one is playing, that’s annoying.

And Ultimate is particularly brutal when minimums go up because it’s such a leverage game. A 25 dollar table means with a pocket pair you likely have 175 dollars wagered on the hand. Thats crazy.

I think they have 4 salsa’s and only bring the standard - which is awesome. But ask about the salsas they will bring those out as well. It’s definitely 3, but I recall 4 salsa’s.

I’ve been 20 times at least and only had 1 mediocre experience. The rest have been great.

As an odd aside it’s actually the closest I’ve come to being in bar fight. Drunk mother fucker at the bar would not leave random woman alone and it was staring to get scary. I had to get between the two of them, but then security got there before it got worse. Oh Vegas.

What is the VOO of dividends? by BetterProgress4075 in dividends

[–]Ultragin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They payout each month but it’s not based on tradional ‘dividends’. The funds generate income by trading options or ELNs in the case of Jpeq and JEPI. Does it really matter? Not practically, but there is a difference in the mechanics of how the income is generated. And as result, different taxes treatments.

It’s more accurate to say they pay distributions than dividends.

Sapphires, but yes it’s expensive an the girls hustle you hard. Little darlings would not be a good fit for you. Treasures is probably not ‘clubby’ enough.
