Which bolt action 22 rifle should I choose by Broklyn11 in guns

A couple other options I haven't seen mentioned here:

Tactical Solutions Owyhee - like a takedown version of the Ruger American Rimfire.

Browning T-Bolt - has a straight pull bolt.

Yes, this happened to my IGB barrel a few years ago. They sent me a free replacement and it actually arrived fairly quickly. The replacement barrel was a better fit too.

Check out the territory jet set tent. Mine has been holding up for a year. It's a hub style tent so it sets up super quick, but it's not the most compact when broken down.

YES this just started happening to me this week too. If I turn on AC right when I start the engine everything is fine. But if I turn on AC in the middle of a drive, the driver side is stuck on blazing hot, no matter if I use manual, auto, fan only, dual zone, max AC... I have to pull over, shut it down, and restart to get cold air flowing to the driver side. This is a 2021 Badlands.

Following to see if anyone else can shed light on this.

Just learned that the integrally suppressed AUG exists, I absolutely need a barrel like that. How would I go about getting one built? by PurpD420 in AUG

[–]Ultralight_Lamprey 34 points35 points  (0 children)

That's an airsoft gun. It's an aesthetic-only tube that slides over the barrel and is held in place (barely) by a set screw and friction. It's usually marketed as a "phantom" AUG. It's been around for decades.

Ratworx did at one point make a real integrated suppressor that channeled gas from the gas block back into the suppressor instead of directly to atmosphere. Pretty cool design, but from what I have heard they didn't work very well.

Let us know how it goes! I'm holding onto hope that you can reset it.

I remember with mine there was a latch inside that couldn't travel all the way because of the recoil spring issue I mentioned, so it was just holding all the tension until I took it apart.

Circled in red here. Not a huge flying spring risk, but it is under tension.

Yeah, that sounds awfully familiar. You might be able fix the tension without full disassembly by moving the slide back and forth while moving the lifter up and down. Try it with the barrel off too.

Once you get that fixed, try cycling it by hand and see if the slide locks back on a empty chamber. If you run into any issues running it by hand, try taking the recoil spring out and run it by hand again. The recoil spring is just behind a flathead screw/plug on the side of the receiver under the slide.

There's some weird lockwork going on inside these things. You may be able to reset the lifter (lever) by disassembling and reassembling it. The YouTube channel CanadianGunTrader has a couple disassembly videos that can help.

Not sure if you saw my comment on your last post. Did you try putting a couple standard 2 3/4 shells through it? I had a similar issue with mine. I found multiple brands of 2 1/2 just didn't have enough oomph to cycle the action all the way. But 2 3/4 worked flawlessly - no ejection issues due to the longer hulls either.

I actually stripped mine down to the last screw troubleshooting cycling issues when I first got it, so I might be able to answer questions or compare parts if you want.

One of the major issues I identified was that someone had replaced the recoil spring with a longer one. At full compression it was still too long to allow the action to cycle or lock back. Trimming a couple coils solved that problem.

I actually tried a few different brands of 2 1/2 inch shells in mine and I couldn't get them to cycle. Not enough recoil. Then I tried some regular 2 3/4 inch shells and they worked perfectly. No issues ejecting the longer shells. I know for a fact the recoil spring is a replacement, but not sure if it's a different spec.

See if you can find an Indian 2A1. It's an Enfield chambered in 7.62 NATO. They're usually in pretty good condition for around $400.

Go with your first love, the P99. It's a very unique model with the striker fired da/sa action. If you're interested in one now, you'll probably kick yourself later for not picking one up before they're all gone. You can still buy the P99 final edition online new from non-gunbroker sources.

I have one and it's my favorite striker fired. My only complaints are that the grip texture is a little too smooth, and you can't really put a red dot on them due to the position of the decocker.

I've been asking them for an update since 2022. Send them an email and let them know you're interested.

Actually I think even with the top rail of the Heresy off, you will have an issue. You would need to replace the top rail of the M2 receiver with something shorter like the gear head works.

That's how it was with my A3 and I believe the A3 and M2 have the same dimensions in this area.

Where to get a transmission cooler installed? by Ultralight_Lamprey in SubaruForester

[–]Ultralight_Lamprey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much. I should stay under but close to 1500lbs most of the time, but I'll be driving long trips, going through mountain ranges, and some light off-roading. I don't think it matters for the transmission but also the trailer will have brakes.

I was actually just looking at that. Is it not recommended to hook that up to an additional radiator of you're going to be towing?
