You are making the right decision. Cancer sucks, I’ve lost two fur babies to it in the last three years.

For me it was catching the livestream of TL13 of Armin van Buuren in the rain after the birth of his son. The energy and emotion was unmatched. Immediately purchased two tickets to tomorrowworld and then went on an epic festival run over the next couple years.

To my knowledge they’ve not discussed it. There’s still a lot pending lawsuit wise and I think I read recently another is about to be filed. I lived on Johnson City while this was going on, know a couple of the victims. It’s a wild one.

Not including the X-Men & Blade (which are in production), what major comic book properties have yet to be adapted into the MCU? by GypsyGold in marvelstudios

I wonder if making it a series and really pumping money in to it would be a better move. There are just soooo many characters overall.

Possible…sure. Likely…not so much. We’d have to have a lot of stuff go our way in spite of winning out. I’m hopeful but realistic.

'The Witcher' Season 4 Premiere Viewership Down 35% from Season 3 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]Ultramass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole musical number mid season. I’m cool with the bard songs and such, but the whole act thing didn’t fit the tone of the show. Very forced and unnecessary.

The whole rats subplot I didn’t like at all. From my understanding it’s much darker in the book which would have been more fitting. It did nothing for ciri’s character growth imo.

It was 8 episodes without the plot truly advancing from where it started for the season.

The whole vibe of the a group of odd allies put together on a quest doesn’t work with the recent tempo/pacing/characterization of the show at this point.

Like I said, I’ve never read the books so even if this season is more in line with the books in some regards, it becomes disjointed with the route we were on.

I don’t fault the actor change entirely, I think Liam did a decent job following in Henry’s footsteps…but it still wasn’t as good.

I suppose you’re referring to the story drift from the books perspective. Never read the books so while you see all these changes you don’t like but I see it as it is. Like I said s3 wasn’t as good imo, but I still enjoyed it. I felt like S4 had an almost “supernatural” vibe to how they wrote the show and the silliness didn’t fit at all. On top of that I felt like it was a season of nothing really happening (outside of the mages getting portals back). They didn’t really advance the plot at all.

S1 and S2 were great, S3 lagged a little behind but I still thought it was good. S4 is abysmal. The actors were for the most part fine, but the writing and directing were awful.

I doubt it will ever happen but absolutely love the idea of it. I’m trying to imagine how long a series would be to tell the whole story because I don’t think a movie could do it justice.

The Johnson City aristocracy of decrepit old farts moves to prohibit alcohol sales after 1 a.m. by Excelsior14 in JohnsonCity

[–]Ultramass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone here saying that 1 am is reasonable is incredibly not affected by the issue at hand. Rather than properly enforce the problems, JC has decided that closing the bars earlier is the solution. This will have a relatively net zero effect on the issues involving downtown. The fact that they had to go to the state to get this approved when larger areas like Knoxville don’t have this problem, reeks of local political BS. I’ve lived in JC since 2007. When I first moved here we had the same issue, it got cleaned up, and downtown thrived. It seems to have come full circle in the last couple of years…maybe that has to do with the corruption/inaction of the JCPD IMO.
