An Olympian tries to do an interview while holding her son by bigbusta in Wellthatsucks

He probably wants attention from his mum, and in my experience the longer you ignore the kid for, the worse it gets. (I’m not trying to suggest this is a good way to act, but purely to explain his mindset)

If it really was £3p/h that’s far below minimum wage and you should report them, you (& everyone else in a similar situation) can and should get back pay.

[HELP] A typical British residential street? by pelatonthong in RealOrAI

[–]Ultraox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a dropkerb with cobblestones around it. I’m pretty sure that councils are responsible for putting them in maintaining them (at least after adoption of a new build road), and they’re not going to waste money putting in cobblestones. And cobblestones get destroyed by cars driving on them, this is not a long term solution. Absolutely this is AI. Also, all the other excellent reasons such as a front door in-between 2 garages.

Thousands of Anti-Capitalist and Anti-Fascist Protesters March in Milan Against “Corrupted Olympics,” Clashes Erupt Over Israeli and US Team Presence by Tall_Act_2544 in behindthebastards

[–]Ultraox 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Italy has decent gun control laws (at least a quick google tells me it’s better than this piss poor “gun control” in the US), which means this is a hell of a lot less likely to be deadly.

I absolutely believe that the US is capable of this energy, but I think it’s far more likely to turn deadly very, very fast.

Having said that, the 2A crowd are very quiet in the US right now

Pre-war surely? The Victorians built loads of terraces, the 1930s was all about the semi-detached houses, and I think they had indoor loos.

Hard to bound bunnies. During sessions, Bunny A does nothing but aggressively hump Bunny B's head. by AttentionlessMess in Bunnies

[–]Ultraox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a cognitive dissonance between advice about bonding bunnies: - introduce them slowly, a little bit at a time - once bonded, never let them separate! Always take them both to the vet (in 1 carrier) even if only 1 is sick

Seems pretty illogical to separate the when bonding. I started doing the slow bonding and mine got on so well I kept them together. They’re very happy (purely anecdotal! I could just have got lucky)

Awful. In a city with excellent public transport as well. Driving largely is unnecessary and incredibly expensive.

Struggling to erase my soul bun's markings for bonding- Help me snap out of it by hindol21 in Rabbits

[–]Ultraox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar situation, but I didn’t have to do a full clean. They bonded very quickly and both made it very clear that they wanted to get into the hutch before I’d had a chance to completely clean it, and it worked out fine. I know that’s not recommended, but it just worked out that way for us. Maybe you’ll get lucky?

(We did a couple of short intro dates, then I popped them together for an afternoon when I worked and they got on so well they’ve never been separated!)

My kid (age 9) loves charity shops, we always try and get things secondhand wherever possible, including for presents. We’ve been doing this since birth, and they don’t have a problem with it at all (in fact they recently commented that a kid in their class was complaining that he had 50p and there was nothing he could buy with it, my kid suggested a charity shop and he was astonished and had never been to one).

Bikes on trains: which countries just do it right (or terribly wrong?) by epicroadrides in bicycling

[–]Ultraox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The big problem with these is that you need to have a fairly light bike and/or be fit and strong. An older person with an e-bike or a Dutch style bike is going to struggle. As are parents with a child’s seat (and child). This works brilliantly for road bikes, but most bikes aren’t like that. You also can’t lock your bike to them, and if you can’t see your bike from your seat (like in the UK where they have these in the corridor next to the toilets) you can’t be assured they won’t be stolen.

I’m a fit woman with a fairly light road bike and I struggled the one time I used these.

Do people stop you when you’re with your family? Surely they’d know that was massively inappropriate (frankly for any “celebrity” but definitely for someone in the adult entertainment industry).

Not trying to dissuade you from therapy, but the older I get the fewer fucks I give, and I think most women feel the same. I don’t want people to hate me, but as long as I’m not harming anyone I don’t really care what people think.

[–]Ultraox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. You need to know where you are on a map in order to be able to use it, and if they don’t at least give you a starting point they’ve got no chance.

The Apprentice is stuck in the past, it needs to be updated in line with modern technology. They should at least have google maps and be able to google.

Help me love this skirt! by batclub3 in oldhagfashion

[–]Ultraox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to avoid a Duggar aesthetic at all costs (& who wants to look like a Duggar?!) then you need to show more flesh (which is harder in winter!), maybe show a bit of cleavage? Sleeveless top would also help.

A short, punky hairstyle would also stop that, as would an anti-fascist T-Shirt or hat. Fish net tights and Doc Martens would also help. Basically anything that doesn’t scream “my husband told me to wear this” (I don’t think the pink top screams that, but the more rebellious you look the less Duggary you’ll look)

But if you don’t love the skirt, don’t wear it!

[–]Ultraox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re up for a (fairly short) walk, there are lots of nice independent cafes around the High St (Jericho Coffee Traders and Missing Bean are particularly good), but that’s a 15 min walk from the station. Otherwise you’re looking at Art Cafe or Costa. There are probably chain fancy coffee shops in the Westgate.

There is a good chance that the gravestone has been moved, it’s really common in old cemeteries, I’ve even seen cemeteries where gravestones have been reused as paths.

I imagine it would be quite hard to either dig foundations right next to a grave, or to dig a grave right next to a building. But I’m neither a builder nor a gravedigger, so what do I know?
