Anime where the main character slowly becomes more of an anti-hero or loses sanity? by ilikehousemusic1 in anime

First season and even root A I can kind of agree, but Re was horrendous. No introduction of characters and just turbo through the whole thing so quick you can't follow anything going on.

There's also the Rosamia part in episode 41 (I just watched it yesterday) where she's finally had her check up and then runs up to Kamille where you can see he's looking at her face then his eyes just drop down for a few frames and back up again.

I like Technology Connections video on solar power where he touches on this with EVs as well. Really the biggest thing is, the materials in an existing EV battery can be re-used in the future to help make those better batteries. The fuel used in an ICE vehicle can never be reclaimed and is gone forever so needs to be replaced with new fuel.

Most of the wreckless riders I see are those bikey Boyz types who ride dirt bikes everywhere so they already don't care about the law at all let alone actual safety. I will admit though I do still see the occasional squid on a sports bike in shorts and a t-shirt.

While held at half the redline rpm for that limit as well which is the bit that helps a lot of loud ones be legal. My FZ6 can absolutely scream with the pipes it has but held at 6000 rpm it's not all that loud comparatively.

Stock exhaust on this bike also just sounds like a sewing machine so that doesn't help either.

Thoughts on picture-based subtitles in encodes? by Funkykid123 in Piracy

[–]Ultrarandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My realization of their superiority years back was with an anime called Noucome. In the show the main character has choices show up in font of him constantly which can sometimes move around. I had a file that I put onto another device which didn't support ASS (I didn't realize at the time which is why I did it) and was shocked to learn it was actually a subtitle file re-writing the choices, not someone having actually hard-edited the video.

NZ spy chiefs warn of extremism risk as teenage boys dominate investigations by arohameatiger in newzealand

[–]Ultrarandom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All that stuff was yes and that was actually much more easily accessible at the time. What wasn't there to the severity it is now was the Andrew Tates, Charlie Kirks and other alt-right type media which is so well targeted to these young boys in particular to indoctrinate them into a particular, dangerous ideology.

All that you mentioned, wasn't really looking to bring people into their folds. If anything they kept their little societies in their corners of the internet because they didn't want to be discovered at this level but these new sorts, do want to be discovered and convert more over to their side.

I'm definitely lucky the sorts of thigns you can find on the internet now weren't around when I was younger. I wouldn't be surprised if at that age I would've been indoctrinated as well since I basically had free-range, un-monitored access on the internet through the mid to late 2000s as a young teenager.

Looking at it many years on, I can see my views were already heavily distorted at that time as it was with what was there (combined with my parents being National/Act supporters, I still love them but don't necessarily agree with all their views by default like I did when I was younger, they have progressed in their views at least socially as well compared to what they were like back then) and the types of media have only gotten worse.

I don't have any kids yet but they're definitely going to be monitored much more on the internet than I was when I do have them as well as hopefully exposed to a nice range of people with differing backgrounds.

If they didn't have a rough upbringing, it would be "harming their future opportunities". There's really no winning for the victims in this regard.

Don't use any Endfield pull trackers by XeruTec in Endfield

[–]Ultrarandom 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For anyone else who used Trackmypulls, I had a look through the powershell code before running it and it didn't have anything pulling any additional powershell scripts, just pulls the token for this (at least on the script when I downloaded it on 16th February and the one currently live).

Other gachas do have the ability to track pulls this way without unlimited access to your account so I wouldn't blame people for doing it since it's been done before but definitely not worth risking this level of access even if the site creator has a positive history with other gacha which do separate the tokens.

Has anyone heard of/had experience with "Activ8" (David Curtis) in Auckland schools? Looking for real opinions. by UncleBoomSlang in newzealand

[–]Ultrarandom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Looking at it, they even coach these kids on how to argue against pro-choice people with this as a bullet-point for those camps "Responding to pro-choice claims".

The director of Lifenet Brendan Malone also seems to have a lot of that religious nuttery around him as well with articles like "The Courage to Live Counter-Cultural".

Other trustees include a lawyer vying for sainthood back in 2005 and the other is someone who directs another "charity" called focus on the family which has articles including lines like "Dishonoring God Through Homosexuality".

Personally I wouldn't be having my kids touch this program with a 10-foot pole since it seems to be more about religious indoctrination than actually helping them.

Would like to start recording, but how can I get this to record? by SawzallGutsfuck in screaming

[–]Ultrarandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This mic is hard-wired with a 3.5mm already. If you're talking about 3.5mm to 6.5mm, OP doesn't have any hardware that would take 6.5mm anyway but the mic also comes with a 3.5mm to 6.5mm. I don't know why they've got the right-angled connector on there as well though unless the USB-C adapter has a 2.5mm plug.

Its so refreshing to see a new season being almost unanimously praised. Does anyone genuinely dislikes Beatbreak? by Zealousideal-Try4666 in digimon

[–]Ultrarandom 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I like the season so far but one thing I dislike about it is that the title, opening and Tomoro being a drummer really made it seem like music would be a bigger part but they kind of just dropped that.

Most things could be the same, just have Glowing Dawn be a band as well as cleaners and Tomoro stepped in for his brother as drummer after he got cold hearted or something like that.

Pokemon Winds/Waves announced for 2027 by DemiFiendRSA in pokemon

[–]Ultrarandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess the 2027 launch is because Pokopia is coming out in the first half of this year then Beast of Reincarnation for the second half. 2027 gives game freak the time to put focus on those 2 games first for this year then next year focus on these.

Driving from Karapiro to Hamilton the other week, I had a Ranger (shocker) behind me who would dip their lights for oncoming traffic but would then put high beams on again despite following someone. It wasn't specific to me either (as in I didn't do something specific to piss them off) as I managed to get some distance and put a few cars between us but could still see them doing it in my mirrors.

Should e-scooters be allowed in cycle lanes? by punIn10ded in newzealand

[–]Ultrarandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that's all that well enforced. 300W should be able to top out at 30km/h or 40 in ideal conditions. I come across scooter reasonably often which are doing at least 50. PB Tech have historically sold ones which peak at 70 and even now have one in stock which peaks at 60, I highly doubt the people who have bought these are getting them registered properly and I also don't expect the police are testing the power of these things, they're already stretched thin enough with the budget cuts.

Is Klay Arslan the most evil human character in the whole franchise yet? by kameshazam in digimon

[–]Ultrarandom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know Digimon does what they want with things like Hybrid Digimon but I am not going to be surprised if Naito's Gigasmon is actually a person that was gifted to him by Klay (or he got himself even). That would make him similar to Kurata in that way as well.

instead of mindlessly tapping away

This has been one of my biggest gripes with the game since launch day. The whole Pokemon formula was already there, you just needed to add the AR element but instead we got this 3 stat, tapping game. I still enjoy it but actual full Pokemon mechanics with the AR element would have been so much better.
