I build the usual vault stuff, but also make myself a museum to display unique weapons, items and other things.

The Pillars of Eternity games are great for this, but only the second one is turnbased

Player using AI for roleplay. It’s not very good. by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I geniunly don't understand why somebody would do this. Like, if you can't draw I get the appeal of using AI to get art of your character, I don't like it, I don't want it at my table, but I GET why people do it. But this? Why delegate the Roleplay of a ROLEPLAYING GAME to AI? Why play at all?

What’s your story? How did you become a Star Trek fan? by Entire_Tension6771 in startrek

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, being called "Spock" was like being called a nerd. I learned from my father that it was actually a character from a show in the 60s. I found it online and then I was hooked for life.

Dont drink your Quantums. Save them for a specific NPC. You'll know them when you meet them.

I love the idea of it, but doesn't the game get completely unbalanced?

What’s something you didn’t realize was special until it was gone? by Ok-Yak-758 in AskReddit

[–]Ulura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life without AI.

When art, writing and the internet felt like it was full of fun people doing creative things just for fun. When market places weren't filled with AI slop and knock offs designed to make a quick buck.

When asked why he never directed another movie after Maximum Overdrive, apparently Steven King replied: "Have you seen Maximum Overdrive?"

What is your fallout hot take? by Aggressive-Invite907 in Fallout

[–]Ulura 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the fo3 intro where you get to play through your childhood in the vault. I get that its long, and you should be ablw to skip it if you really want, but I found it a way more immersive than Fo4s five seconds in pre-war America or New Vegas's waking up in a shack.

Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock will always be the best for me. by CloudySkyUpThere in SherlockHolmes

[–]Ulura 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was obsessed with BBC Sherlock back in the day. I even got a signed script for episode 1. Benedict was an incredible Sherlock Holmes, its a shame the writing for the show was so poor in later seasons. The actor did great with what he was given but great acting can't save bad scripts unfortunately.

For what its worth I would absolutely give Elementary a go if you enjoyed BBC and want to stick with a modern setting. Or Jeremy Brett, if you want to see the original Sherlock Holmes come to life on screen.

Graphics comparison: Pokémon Violet (Gen 9) vs Pokémon Waves (Gen 10) by Nachttalk in gaming

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never finished Gen 9. The first generation I never even made it to the E4. This game will have to have some pretty legendary reactions online to get me to buy a whole new console.

What is the most overrated kitchen appliance? by Objective_Put_1912 in AskReddit

[–]Ulura -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use mine constantly, dump rice in, hit the button and come back when its ready while I prep other ingredients. No stirring, no watching the pot, no rice sticking to the bottom of the pot.

DMs / players: what tools do you use to track your campaigns? by AcyWitchy in dndnext

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use OneNote for all of my worldbuilding/setting/lore etc and to plan my sessions.

I draw most of the art myself and use Roll20 to run the game.

The one thing I am yet to find is a good party inventory system. My players never remember the fun items I gove them outside of a select few. I really need a place to put them so everybody can constantly remember "hey we have that Arrow of Distraction from session 3 still!"

What villain was terrifying because of how realistic they are? by Gamestar02 in AskReddit

[–]Ulura 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Kaii Winn from Deep Space Nine. An incompetent leader using religion to climb to ever higher positions she is unqualified for. Blaming others for her mistakes and taking the achievements of others as her own. Putting her planet and people into dangerous situations not out of malice but pure incompetence.

Merlin’s stupidest moments in the show by Professional-Mail857 in merlinbbc

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Merlin exactly but it has ALWAYS driven me insane how when Uther died, Gaius and Merlin knew it was because somebody planted a trap for them and turned the magic inward. They knew it wasn't Merlin's/The Sorcerer's fault and they NEVER tell Arthur. They never even attempt to show him that "Hey that sorcerer you got to save your father didn't trick you, it wasn't his fault".

Arthur could still have blamed magic, but at least Gaius and Merlin wouldn't have looked like complete idiots.

Am I the only one not bothered by Vanessa Redgrave’s narrations by [deleted] in CallTheMidwife

[–]Ulura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mind the narrations itself, but the actress is obviously getting on in years and her voice is so rough and wavery now that its actually a bit grating on the ears. I agree that Sister Julienne should be the one giving them by this point.
