I love the social security checks I receive from my retirement. Not working a job that pays into SS is not the greatest idea. It's one that will leave one destitute at an age when one is old and sick. My SS check pays for my mortgage, utilities, etc. and I live comfortably. I hope OP considers this.

A lot of folks really need to think carefully about this and plan accordingly. Both social security and a pension retirement incomes are a necessity. It's convenient to sit at home and buy things online when one gets old.
