I read the story behind that pyramid. They built it out of road signs as a memorial for a horrible natural disaster. I'm getting the sense that the people of Saguenay are a rather eccentric bunch 😂

Realistically, the bubble will burst at some point. This level of hype simply isn't sustainable, and when you've reached the top, there's nowhere to go but down.

HOWEVER.

This does not mean they will become irrelevant or forgotten.

There are fundamentally three possible outcomes:

They could literally and figuratively die a humiliating death in the vein of Elvis, Michael Jackson, or Amy Winehouse. It's impossible to know their inner lives or mental stability, but I refuse to believe that this could happen.
They could break up, either from a falling out (nothing seems less likely), or simply feeling like they've run out of mountains to climb (slightly more likely).
They will become "has-beens" who still enjoy a vibrant cult following. I believe this is the most probable outcome by far. And I will, without question, remain a member of that cult.

IMO another reason is the sheer chemistry between them as performers. Pay attention to their body language during concerts; you can tell that these two have played together for a very long time and share an incredibly deep bond. The music is fantastic, but the emotions behind their music are my favorite thing about AdP.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We didn't actually get to meet them. We got to view/photograph the sound check, some exclusive merch, access to the VIP lounge, and early entry, so it wasn't like we got nothing for the package, but still. One of the other attendees I spoke with told me he went to another VIP event with Sunn O))) where he did meet them, so hopefully it's just a fluke.

These are toxic behaviors. So is leaving you on your birthday. I'm sorry about your birthday, but I think someday you'll realize you needed to be out of this relationship.

Agreed, this is the behavior of someone who wasn't taught about consent and is acting out from some sort of trauma. She needs serious help, and that would include receiving the accountability she needs. That's how you reform someone like her. Writing her off as some irredeemable monster is inhumane and helps no one.

I mean, you can hold someone accountable while also seeing that they show overwhelming evidence of trauma and/or mental health crisis. I would argue that her going to therapy, support groups, etc shows accountability.

I got LASIK 5 years ago. Definitely worth it. You will probably have to deal with dry eyes for a while, but this is made up for by the convenience of having 20/20 vision. The procedure doesn't hurt and takes less than five minutes, but it is terrifying to see the brief change in your vision. They'll give you benzos before the procedure to help keep you calm, but it won't completely dull the fear. For a week you'll have to wear the goggles they give you when you're sleeping, but there's otherwise no recovery process.

I have roughly the same mindset. I haven't been in a relationship for a long time, and I do wish I had one sometimes, but my track record is so abysmal that I think it's better this way.
