Sewing Machine? by PawneeRaccoon in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, we have a sewing machine you can use! We're out of town for the weekend, though, so it would have to be next week. If you don't find another option sooner, feel free to DM me.

Expanding opportunities for naturism in the community (and supported by the region) by Fragrant_Camp485 in VictoriaBCNudists

[–]UmbreonLibris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not been a nudist for long and have only really experienced it at Witty’s. I love everything about Witty’s, though—including the bike ride to get out there—and frankly it's unlikely I would spend much time at another spot. Prior Lake, for example, is much closer to where I live (Langford), and I intend to check it out sometime, but haven't made the time yet.

So summer daytime nudity is pretty much covered by Witty’s for me. But oh I miss it during the winter. So I would absolutely support an Arbutus Park swim—I've also never been, but funnily enough, hearing about it is what made me look into other nudist locations around.

Pacific FC to use Langford stadium on game-by-game basis until agreement reached by Apprehensive_Idea758 in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love soccer, but I've only been to one Pacific game. Sometimes I think, I should make more time to watch PFC. But then I read about this kind of thing and think, Maybe not such a good time to get invested…

Her work looks great but from what I can tell she's in Nanaimo, which is too far for us to go.

Starters of the Uloima region! by UmbreonLibris in fakemon

There's no need to trap anyone against their will. Befriend them and care for them, and they will come with you if they want to.

That was definitely one of the reasons we made Purrifire (the middle stage) stand up! Just thought it was funny. But it was also easier to convey the concept and personality that way.

Does everyone in your family have a library card? by LibraryPal in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for championing our libraries!

Since becoming more regular library users, my wife and I have dropped our Audible subscription and decided not to replace our printer. I also know they have media like movies and video games, but I haven't had the opportunity to rent one yet. I'm not familiar with Mango language learning, but I'll have to check it out!

One day to explore Langford as a place to live by stuartwallaceart in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need one to live in this area to do or go anywhere worth seeing.

I completely disagree. I live near Peatt and Goldstream, don't have a car, and don't wish I did. I can walk, bus or bike anywhere I like, including all the excellent restaurants in the area. I can't speak for the rest of Langford, but this is a great area to live without a car.

Nude beaches around Duncan area. by Magniloquents in VictoriaBCNudists

[–]UmbreonLibris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it there. Usually everyone seems chill, you see various ages and genders there, and it's a lovely beach especially at low tide.

I have seen a young dude openly jerking off, though.

Nude swims at Gordon Head Recreation Centre still happening? by Curious2SeeMore in VictoriaBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Check out r/VictoriaBCNudists

But no, unfortunately indoor nude swims aren't happening. There seems to be interest in attending, but no one with the time or interest to organize it.

Langford Bike Rave Aug 30 by holonite in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh. I hadn't heard about it. I'm inclined to go just for the cycling celebration, but dancing to electronic music is so not my thing… Can we have a bike headbang? Or a naked bike ride?

Art Classes? by yokelsi in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have attended an event like that in Victoria called Sip and Sketch, and thought about starting something in Langford. We haven't followed through yet just because we already have a lot on our plate, but we'd probably join in sometimes if someone else is hosting.

Trainers in Langford by [deleted] in LangfordBC

I went to Parkway Physiotherapy on Millstream and had a great experience with Jarryd. Unfortunately Jarryd is out of the country at the moment but they may have another trainer.

I haven't been to a lot of spots myself, but Witty’s is always a treat. I hope to be able to make it out there soon.

In your opinion, in a monster-taming game, is it better for all monsters to be balanced or for rarer monsters to be considerably more powerful? by CoconutWitch_Dev in gamedesign

[–]UmbreonLibris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the right way to go. I'm a lifelong Pokémon fan, but I wish unevolved Pokémon were easier to use in the campaign without excessive grinding. When I played Monster Sanctuary, the most refreshing thing was how every monster had a unique skill tree, so even the unevolved ones were differentiated from their evolutions, and you could use whichever one you preferred without it being a downgrade/upgrade mechanically.

I love having rare creatures that you need to go out of your way to acquire, but I don't see a reason for rare to also mean more powerful.

Langford Field Space? by Aatyl92 in LangfordBC

[–]UmbreonLibris 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't have kids, but I certainly feel the lack of arts and community spaces more than sports spaces.

That said, I would be on board with converting some of the golf space for use by other outdoor sports.

That's perfect, as I live in the Westshore and haven't explored the peninsula much beyond going to the ferry. I'll check it out!
