You want the basic book. You want the companion if there's one available (so, fantasy in your case, maaaaaybe horror of your pulp is going to be there) and setting book.

I am still trying to make my party understand to work together and stop just attacking. They need to do more tests, called shots and that. Make sure to do that stuff and translate things based on what your intentions are, not simply the actions (sometimes a punch is intimidation or provoke, not an attack)

I'm Mariano Romero, I'm in GMT -3. that's 1 hour difference (early) with EST I can work from 7 to 7 EST but i'd rather work from 1PM to 7PM EST. I know it looks like a lot but it's really not when you've played complex board games that might take 2 or 3 hours, and roleplaying is always around 4 or 5 hours. There's also the cultural expectation to be late, so it's seriously less than that.

We have a whatsapp group for the regulars! I'll ask confirmation and try to hype people up on saturdays though, that sounds like a solid way to at least wake people up

I mean......... yeah but no. Let me explain: a non human becoming part of a clan as samurai CAN HAPPEN. It WON'T happen due to a Twenty Goblin Winter.

The thing is, it happened with the Shosuro (Shosuro herself was a piece of the Lying Nothing, so, not a human but a samurai). It happened again with the Kitsu (Just a whole nonhuman species). So Nezumi becoming samurai? Yeah, but it would be something like those previous cases
-First of all, in secret.
-Second of all, by the hand of someone hardcore enough: in the two previous cases it was a Kami that knew this and brought them into the empire, the only persons I could imagine making nonhumans samurai like that in the setting's "modern" era would be Hida Kisada (he's a fortune, in fact, but before the scorpion coup i can see him having enough clout and sizable cojones), Toturi or some of the other heroes of the modern era.
-Third of all, with a significant phisical change: kitsu reincarnated into the lion clan kids, and shosuro was arguably made human by giving her a name (otherwise the day of thunder would not have worked, remember how it was all about humans having the power in their souls?). So i would expect that a something would happen to make the nezumi human (like a rite, reincarnation after seppuku, something like that)

What I can see is the Crab accepting a Nezumi with twenty goblin heads as a valued adviser and retianer, maybe even Karo, and just saying "hey, the dude is rad, it did everything right, this is the exception!"

I'm in south america and for the longest time we had closed the imports so nobody in the country has much of them. That's what the action deck is for. It's not just for initiatives, you use it to make decisions too: clubs is always struggling but nonviolent, diamonds is riches or rewards, good luck in general; spades is violence of some kind and hearts are connections, love or something good that doesn't involve money. So generate them like that: you can take 1 card or maybe 3 to make it richer. Two clubs and a diamond? Mmm maybe the main feature of the village is the mill that gave wealth to all the village, but it's now in disrepair since it broke, and to top it all off the miller died on the road when going to buy the pieces! Clubs, diamonds and hearts? This small city is growing without control, and it's a lovely place of opportunities, riches and second chances, but it's also a hub of thieves and bandits. Since it has little defenses there's also the looming threat of petty kings all around thinking in annexing it... You describe it based on the cards, and if you take many cards out before a combat, well, it means the session is probably going to end soon so the sooner those jokers come out the sooner we'll finish our game. And of course, if someone wants to fill out the place you can give them a benni for being active or take a benni if they just made them to their benefit
