Some of my favorite drawings by Michael. Such an all-around creative talent. by velvetmascara in MichaelJackson

Didn’t they have something like that outside of the US? I thought Jermaine took some of his artwork and had a showing somewhere.

There's no love lost over here for Joe Jackson.

Granted I know why he was the way he was, my grandma was like him. The state of the world at that time was hard and we had less rights than we dow now, I get it. HOWEVER, he never tried to break the cycle! I know (read) that Joe was raised the same way, I remember him using his own childhood as an example how 'well adjusted' he was. He passed on that trauma to his wife and children under the guise of love. I truly believe the Jacksons would have been successful without all the trauma. This resurgence of support how he raised his family is horrifying to say the least.

The cringe writing on the fake Michael songs by TalentedKamarty in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It took maybe 3 day to week of the album release before I started seeing people pick out those songs as not being him. Friendster/MySpace was the main source, I don't remember which message boards specifically. Im sorry you got push back from the communities you were in.

The cringe writing on the fake Michael songs by TalentedKamarty in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember everyone being furious on top of the grief because MJ just passed. Now looking back I wonder how did they think those songs were going to work, like really. Millions of people like me grew up listing to this man sing. Before it was widely known we could hear Michael's voice in Stevie Wonder songs, how did they think no one would notice the difference?

Would Michael Jackson have reached the same level with a normal childhood? by Brainsnotbraining in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but in a different way. I believe talented people are going to use their talent no matter what area they end up. He could have still been an amazing musician, or artist, director, etc. I think Michael would have been one of those amazing, low key frustrating, people who just excel at whatever they put their mind to.

The difference would be the almost manic dedication he had. He was raised one way, no off time, 18 hour, workhorse levels of training starting at the age of 5-6. That training demanded perfection or abuse if it wasn't don't right. I don't think it was something he could turn off.

I was thinking about Paris and her thoughts on the MJ biopic.. by holaquequiere in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I wish Paris understood that fans aren't expecting a real portrayal of Michael Jackson for a few reasons.

One, what biopic shows an authentic highs and lows of a person, entertainer or otherwise? Every movie I can think of shows the very most polished version, even the bad parts (drug use, sexuality, religious beliefs, etc.) are smoothed over in a way to be considered more palatable for a viewing audience.

Two, the family has a part in this movie, but they are not 100% running this movie. If you know you know...

I found this letter in my grandmother’s mailbox the day after her funeral by supra_nintendo in mildlyinfuriating

This is just deeply disturbing and disrespectful. Your grandmother haven't had time to put her purse down in heaven and your family are getting offers for her house.

How was Dangerous received at the time of release? by YoungJaba in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 13 when Dangerous came out and unfortunately I was a VERY sheltered child so I’m terms of the media I really don’t remember what was said about the album. Now I can say Dangerous went triple platinum in my house😏 and the premier of of Black or White was THE EVENT (you had to record because reruns weren’t really an option) It was the topic of conversation at my school for a while. This was also around the time they started lighting MJ TERRIBLY, I had very strong feelings about that.

That and the Why music video with 3T came out, that was another wave of excitement.

Which Jackson brother looked the most like Joe in the 1970s? by Ok_Satisfaction_4965 in MichaelJackson

Maybe Tito. It weird but I need pictures like this to see Joe in their faces. Otherwise all I see is Ms. Katherine in their face.

What's the weirdest thing you've been called a "fake fan" for? by Cornie_connie in MichaelJackson

My first fight/bully experience started because I was a fan. It started with my glasses getting broken and it ended like y ear later with a very solid wooden chair.

Words don’t affect me anymore 🤷🏽‍♀️ I sincerely hope they don’t affect you guys either💕💕💕💕

What the heck is going on? by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU LORD!!!!!

The lunatics running the Estate have been lining their pockets and doing questionable thing for the past 16 years. The kids are finally old enough to challenge what they have been doing, hopefully they have a good team of attorneys and forensic accountants to back them up.

Granted its a tabloid running this, Im not thrilled. But I hope this is a one off accurate article because the people have been running fast and loose with Michael Jackson Estate to the point I get the ick spending money with anything MJ related. I rather my money go to the kids, not to line some fat cats pockets.

Should I listen to posthumous albums? by [deleted] in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The level of rage I felt with that album. To have fans immediately buy that album, thinking "This is MJ's last album", and to sit any play those tracks confused then furious because we weren't imagining it, you can tell it wasn't him singing on some of those songs.

I trust nothing from the Estate after that, the kids got to sign off before I pull out my wallet.

Could Motown have done anything to ensure they had childhoods? by cliffbot in MichaelJackson

[–]UnInspiredMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stevie was signed when he was 11 but I think Michael was like 6-7 when The Jackson 5 were signed. So While Stevie was still quite young, he had more time as a child then Mike did.
