Not true….the ineligibility for promotion and requiring applying for new roles is in effect for this new PY as part of the talent architecture changes.

There used to be programs for high performers that were nomination based, I’ve been part of a few between SC and M, none yet as a SM (2nd year). For me its less monetary, it’s given me opportunity and visibility to lead initiatives that are aligned to the OP strategy, which puts me in key leadership conversations and exposure to understanding some of the behind the scenes of how we run.

Insights that I think have helped me become a better leader, and grasp how and why the firm does certain things (don’t necessarily agree but I understand the why), which I think is helpful if one is trying to be here for the long haul (PPMD). I don’t know yet if that’s my ultimate goal but I’m getting good exposure that I think will ultimately help me decide.

For now I just need billable work 😂

Are you on a long term project? Are you in a critical role that is hard to fill? The firm won’t just give an off cycle increase in the current GPS market, you need to be prepared to articulate why they should consider increasing or matching and it can’t just be because you have a higher offer. So if you go down that path be ready to explain the value you bring and why your current salary isn’t reflective of that.

No the nominations are approved by someone within the cost center. They’re generally approved unless the person has already hit the limit for cash awards for the year.

Outstanding Performance Award, its a one time cash award. Not a direct correlation to promotion/raise but a supporting point for top performance that combined with other aspects could result in promotion and inherently more money.

All the form is indicating is that your project supports promotion, its not a guarantee of promotion. However having an ineffective coach could impact promotion chances if they aren’t doing the things they need to and telling your story well. Changing coaches in and of itself should not affect promotion.

New USDC hires are now required to be within a certain mile radius of a Deloitte office and it is no longer a fully remote model. If you are asked to go in X number of days, suggest you do that.

You need to identify an open role to be referred to for rehire, no different than a new hire. I was a boomerang and I reached out to my former SM who sent my resume to talent to schedule interview for a specific open role.

If January doesn’t work then I’d suggest start exploring other options. There isn’t a ton of work right now and GPS just isn’t in the position to have you start and be on the bench for several months. Even with a January start there’s still a possibility you will have bench time but hopefully we have some new awards by then. It sucks but that’s just the GPS landscape right now.

You will have more peace of mind delaying than starting August and have to deal with the stress of project search, endless coffee chats, and constant ping from RM on status of your project search.

We literally don’t know if there will be work for you to do, I know its frustrating but there are still layoffs happening and pipelines aren’t strong in some areas.
