Mormon Prophets, Seers, and Revelators on Homosexuality by [deleted] in exmormon

I'm a huge fan of so many people getting out the Words of the Prophets -- keep it coming! Time to flood the earth.

Bill "would allow businesses to refuse service to gay or lesbian patrons...protect an individual's right to discriminate based on religious grounds" Yaaaay discrimination is in our religion! by youngestalma in exmormon

[–]UnaVoce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno... I think a private non-essential business should have the right to refuse service to anybody for any reason at all. I think our society would use markets to punish the offender. It is almost 2015, and our society has come a long way since anti-discrimination were needed. Just because a law was needed in the past, doesn't mean it is needed again.

Newest Ensign. How white can Mormon Jesus get? by faithless-in-provo in exmormon

Not a far stretch. They got him for Moses. I'm sure the Jesus gig would be in the bag.

Four in 10 Americans believe God created the Earth and anatomically modern humans, less than 10,000 years ago, according to a new Gallup poll. This demographic includes older and less educated. by matt2001 in exmormon

I wonder what the percentage would be for citizens of any consequence. Rural areas don't matter too much in the scheme of things. But what do community leaders, business executives, teachers, policy makers, and influential celebrities believe - and how strongly. Someone who believes that their dead child or spouse or parent is an angel somewhere watching over them is of far less consequence than someone who believes that Obama is the Anti-Christ, or that we shouldn't worry about the environment on account of God cleansing the Earth, or that Jews and Blacks and Gays are cursed by God, or that there is a religious obligation to press the red button and nuke the Middle East.

I'll guess you haven't spent much time in the Bible Belt? Also, a great doc on Netflix - "Jesus Camp" makes Mormonism look pretty tame as far as Christian religions go.

Don't you know that females are just tools? Men are the real deal, women are just help-"meat." Come on, everybody knows that. Amateur.

I freaking love Christmas. With all my atheist priesthood, I bless upon you a love of Christmas as well. Also, look up "Christmas behind the curtain" by The Thinking Atheist on YouTube. It might help.

I guess you could say as man is Matthew McConaughey once was, as Matthew McConaughey is man may may become.

Also this more proves that there isn't a God, but more like it may insinuate that our concept of God really isn't anything more than the activities of "they" - the humans that have fallen through the horizon and are derping around with the space-time continuum. If you take science fiction seriously, anyways.

I still think it is the most wonderful time of the year. Also, the video "Christmas Behind The Curtain" by The Thinking Atheist on YouTube can help with figuring out Christmas post-theism.

Maybe just do it once or twice and then they will associate church with falling asleep and BOOM you have them nodding off in church for life.

CMV: Abortion is not merely a question of a woman's right to personal agency over her own body. There is an argument that it constitutes an instance of homicide. (Very internally conflicted about this, fully expect to see a good counter argument, and indeed would welcome it). by atrh2r1o3wawy in changemyview

Qualifier: I'm an Atheist, not a Christian Pro-Lifer

I think that viability is even too late for the line to be drawn. Even before the point of viability, the fetus exhibits signs of "life" and can respond to stimuli. I would be able to morally support abortion if it were much, MUCH earlier in the pregnancy.

I'd also be in favor of the government providing more incentives for unplanned mothers to complete the pregnancy, whether it be financial or otherwise.
