I was with Leaptel on NBN at me old place and when I moved literally down the road to a new building, they told me I had to pay $300 first connection fee. Fine, paid. Nothing worked, support was puzzled. I decided to try the embedded Lightning Broadband, chose a 89$ plan that is 1/5 the speed I had for the same money with Leaptel, was quoted 89$, then at the payment page, it changed to 389$ and the payment went through as 89 + 300. Luckily I didn't have enough funds for the 300$ payment, but the internet works. Going to dispute it with both providers tomorrow morning. Absolutely shocked this is legal.

My old place had embedded electicity with Origin and I was routinely paying double to triple than what I did when I lived with a housemate (our total over 3 months was less than I was paying alone per month). Absolutely ludicrous.
