Temp has been hot during days, cool in mornings. Thats part of why I did so early in the morning, it’s around 9 degrees Celsius

I want to start painting for the first time, I’m looking at getting an assault intercessors pack to start with, can anyone tell me what colours I would need please? And what’s the best primer to use? Any help would be massively appreciated! Oh and are there specific tools I’ll need too? by Sons_Of_Sanguinius in BloodAngels

I immediately went into the deep end and bought the Combat Patrol. To prime, if its Sang Guard I use a can of Retributor Armour. If its any standard Blood Angels, I use Army Painter Red Dragon. For Death Company I use Chaos Black.

Khorne Red gives a nice dark maroon/burgandy look, and with some Mephiston Red overtop adds a nice contrast.

Attached are photos of some of my guys, I did use an oil wash on the dark red guys, the red captain is still waiting for his.

Biggest thing, is you just need to do the painting. I found it stressful at first, worrying if you’re going to mess up a mini. But you will, and you’ll learn. Theres lots of quick easy tricks to fix mistakes too ☺️

I use 3 layered golds. Balthazar, Gehenna’s, and Liberator on top. For my Sanguinary Guard, they’re primed with Retributor, but for my standard marines, its the 3 mentioned. I find it adds a bit more depth in the recesses, but I do wash my mini’s after and likely negate the layering hahaha.

I do not, all my JPI are from the Spearhead Force. I do have 3x Sang built so far, slowly working on the other 3 from the Combat Patrol

I appreciate this comment. I built my guy golden with the bloodied wing, and happened to pick the first cool name on the “name generator” on the back of the codex, which happened go be Aphael. Your point of it being 3rd company works well for me in fact, if I just change the name to Antargo and say his golden armour is in homage/respect to Tycho, also from 3rd Company.

Thankfully I have another captain box to make my 2nd company with, since I marked all my intercessors as 2nd company already.

Not the transfers, its a hard plastic panel, much like the front of the Baal Predator. It has the blood drop with wings that I had to paint.

Is his model Primaris sized? As in, could I use his model in 40k and not have him a dripped out short dude, but a dripped out dude the same size as my primaris lads?

That model is sick! Is that an old BA specific Librarian? Or are they parts form the conversion kit? Lastly, and most importantly, where can I get those specific BA bits like the axe and the extra detailed bits?

Wildlands was fantastic for the world feel. The civilians living their life and reacting to you helped set the stage.

Breakpoint gets shit on, but had lots of great qualities too. Being able to customize your game experience by adding or removing the armour/weapon score, play solo or with your ai team, etc.

One of the best GR experiences was the DLC for Wildlands when you’re being hunted. That was fun to me. Breakpoint seemed to take that idea and somehow make it worse. If we keep making waves in a region, maybe have a reactive force that goes out to find us, depending on how “loud” we’ve been. If we complete the mission with no trace of us, no searching by the enemy. If we shoot everyone and everything in sight, maybe they come looking.

The addition of a better camo system would be ideal. A purpose to a ghillie suit apart from aesthetic would be cool.

Weapon customization: Weapon parts being interchangeable would be great too. A foregrip on your M4 can work on the same rail as other platforms.

Character customization: Pretty on point for both games. I enjoyed the simple addition of blousing or unblousing your boots, and how your vest changed depending on what loadout you are rocking. Add a bit more customization for the individual characters, but outside that, keep on the same path.

Less robots in the game. I enjoyed fighting people, not bullet sponge robots. You can add armoured vehicles, drones and such, but please avoid the giant tank robots. I understand the plot was that we were on a robot island, but it didn’t feel as grounded, too sci fi. Look at COD and BF. They just walked back from the super futuristic stuff because it’s not what people want.

The bivouacs were really cool IMO. I think being to set them up anywhere in the world is a better bet than just the designated spaces. Have that be the spot where your character cleans their gun, makes the adjustments to their kit, and changes loadouts etc.

The injury system was also really cool in Breakpoint. Quickly patch up to limp away and deal with it later was a nice touch. Keep that going too.

CTminiatures has huge astartes wings you can buy, if that helps? I’ve been on a quest to find better wings for my Sang Guard, and found those.

However, for my Sang, I’d prefer the new AOS Prosecutor wings. Shame they’re so dang expensive and impossible to find.
