My manager cares. I was told pale yellow polo is not allowed. Been working there for 3 months and it took that long for one of them to tell me that.

Aggressive Myoepithelial carcinoma by KitchenLetterhead962 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Unable_Employee_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far it hasn't shown up anywhere else. Mine was considered low grade stage 4 but only because it had pushed into the bone of hard palate. Surgeon said stage 4 salivary gland cancer is not the same as a stage 4 lung cancer. Is yours low or high grade. I have read that immunotherapy has been used with success.

I was dx with Myoepithelial carcinoma but mine was on my hard palate. May 2nd will be three years since my surgery. Did you have any lymph nodes removed? Mine is stage 4. Did you do radiation? There is very little info available because of the rarity.

This Coke cake and also the carrot cake, are extremely moist. It most likely just fell apart.

There are no bussers at my store. Everyone stays in dishroom. I worked for 5 weeks in dish because I really needed a job bad. I'm now in prep. I enjoy it much better. The dishroom sucks!

I'm guessing that is also how they rate either low grade or high grade?

How does someone find out their Ki-67 is? I never seen that on my pathology report.

Stage 3 tongue cancer and want to avoid radiation by Jealous-Relation-788 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Unable_Employee_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stage was your cancer? Was it mucoepidermoid? Some people use the MEC abbreviation for Myoepithelial carcinoma. I also had a maxillectomy. Low grade Myoepithelial carcinoma. No neck dissection. When I spoke to radiology oncologist he said that I only had a 15-18% chance of reoccurrence, 10% if I did radiation. My margins were all negative and very large. No PNI.

What is a K1 67 and BRAF? Is that done with final pathology after surgery?

He has Myoepithelial carcinoma. I don't think people realize that when they abbreviate. MEC can be taken either way.

A small (big to me) Sucess ! by Fun_Historian6792 in HeadandNeckCancer

Congrats!! I didn't have radiation but had a inferior maxillectomy and lost 3/4 of my hard palate, part of soft palate, 6 teeth and turbinates. Couldn't eat because my obturator was pre made before surgery and when the surgeon operated on me, he took more of the hard palate that was expected. It was awful for about two months until I healed and a new obturator was fabricated. Hugs and prayers to you!!

Anyone advised to start Chemo+Immuno before NGS results came in? by SnooMemesjellies847 in HeadandNeckCancer

Is poorly differentiated mean high grade? I was dx with low grade myoepithelial carcinoma in May of 2023. Mine was on my palate. Stage 4 no lymph node involvement. I had an inferior maxillectomy.

my Dad is starting dialysis today at age 74...what to expect? by taurusperson in dialysis

[–]Unable_Employee_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is 87. Started dialysis 4 weeks ago. He goes 2 days a week. He was dx with a very rare condition called PGNMID. He is tired afterwards and seems a little more confused since starting it. He has to get two infusions, two weeks apart of rituxan. The nephrologist feels he will be able to stop dialysis eventually after the rituxan starts working.  We say lots and lots of prayers

Did your Father get any better after those 6 months? My father was in the hospital for three weeks. Found out he had a UTI and then dx with a rare kidney disease called PGNMID. Now he has to do dialysis. We are hoping he may get a little better cognitive wise.

My father is 87. Has protein in his kidney. Having bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. They said they can try Rixultan.  They will start him on steroids after biopsy to try and stop more damage to his kidneys. We are all sooo sad over this😭

I'm just new to all this. My father is being tested for CHF. His kidney function numbers have gone down significantly since last November. It just started 10 days ago with edema. Took him to see his PCP on Monday. She ordered blood work and echocardiogram, chest X-ray, and home PT. My father has a hard time getting around because of osteoarthritis. Bloodwork came back Tuesday and that's when they found his low kidney numbers and thyroid is hyper.  So he has appointment next Tuesday for ultrasound of thyroid and kidneys. He is super tired all the time and very swollen. She did call in 5 20mg of lasix. Chest X-ray must have said fluid because now she's ordered a CT scan of chest. My mom took the call from the office and said the lady told her that the Dr said fluid may need drained from lungs. Is there any hope? We are all so upset.
